Ribbit’s Picture Day

Yesterday when I wrote the “Unexpected” post, I only added a tadpole photo but not Ribbit as a frog. Its habitat was not picture-friendly, but it’s much better today with a water change. https://lagottocattleya.wordpress.com/2019/01/26/lens-artists-photo-challenge-30-unexpected/

Hello! My name is Ribbit. My favorite things to do are pooping, swimming, eating, pooping (oh wait, I already said that), stretching, playing, relaxing, exploring, and smiling to those who admire my cute face.

Nice to meet you readers!
I’m thinking…I’m thinking…yes, I do want flies for dinner.
Don’t mind me. This is just my fancy way of coming up for air.

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

    1. Thanks!! He was totally picture ready this morning.
Ribbit lives alone in its habitat, but I’ve read that a frog friend would make it happy. I’m thinking I’ll get a snail instead. What if I get another frog and it reproduces?! Its life span is 5-15 years…ahhhhhh…we will be outnumbered by frogs. I still feel bad it doesn’t have a companion.
He eats special pellets that you buy online.

  1. Hello Ribbit! He looks great and thriving. We built with stones a place to come up and sit for a while, but maybe his pond has got to low sides for that? We also built a tunnel bridge for our tadpoles to walk when they had got all their legs. The first year we missed out on the fact that they need to reach the air properly, so some drowned when their legs were out and the tail dropped.
Wishing you a lovely Sunday – and thank you for updating!

    1. Those are great ideas to spruce up his habitat!! I was so focused on cleaning the water and feeding it that it didn’t occur to me that interior design would make Ribbit happier. Thank you for the suggestions.
I just told my kids about this and they are all for it.
Hope you have a great Sunday too!!

    1. Thank you!! That’s a great encouragement to hear. A lot of times I don’t know if what we’re doing will turn out well. It’s a hit or miss, but anything with live critters seem to hold their attention. Have a great evening and take care!!
