Beautiful Esther – tulips are always so pretty and I admire them for their tenacity to come back year after year.

They are! My neighbor gave me a tulip and other bulb flowers. When they bloom, they smell wonderful and look radiant. I asked her how I could take care of them…I’m a plant noob…and she told me to let the flowers die naturally and save the bulbs for next year. Now that I know that…I see that tulips show up for blooming and then they’re gone. They make a grand entrance!

They sure do make a grand entrance … my father ordered bulbs from Holland the first year we lived here. He planted them in the Fall and in the Spring, while doing yardwork, found bulbs everywhere where squirrels had dug them up … only one tulip bloomed ever.
