Can’t sleep

When you need to sleep but can’t. Tried but sleep won’t come; instead, got a migraine.

Happens every few months. Usual pattern before Ellis’ heart clinic appointment. I think they need labwork and Ellis is a bundle of nerves. Calming her down has reverse effects on me. I get nervous too.

Oh yow, k, must try to at least squeeze in a restful cat nap.

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

  1. Esther – When I get like that I tried to fill my mind with distractions replace the worry with a positive – I use audiobooks/plays enough to grab my attention but not too detailed. I set the volume low and go to sleep normally before the end of the story.

    1. That’s a great idea Andy. I’ve been doing that recently since subscribing to Audible and I do fall asleep before it’s over. I fell asleep while listening to “Matilda” with the kids and that’s got high energy. Insomnia happens when the mind can’t stop thinking.
I’m doing better now! Thank you for your thoughtful idea.

  2. I hope as I read this a few days after you posted this that things have stabilized and you’ve gotten some much needed rest. It is hard to tune out the rest of the world, when you have so many things going on in your own {{{ }}} Hugs for you.

    1. Day before appointments I have mini meltdowns, as you could tell from the early morning post. lol.
I’m doing good; it takes time to process and to go through the long day of meeting with specialists. Ack, can’t get used to it after all these years. Coffee makes a good companion.
Thank you for the warm hugs Linda!
