Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

  1. Eww – Whole Foods no less. A little extra meat with your salad. Well better than the bird foot in the unopened bag of Dole’s Spinach Salad a few years ago. I used to like their Spinach Salad Kit and got it as a treat occasionally and shared a few leaves with my canary. After I read that, no more Dole anything for me. I opened a can of Del Monte creamed corn and was eating some spoonfuls of it out of the can before putting it in the pot to cook it. After a few mouthfuls, there was a huge overgrown fly in the remaining corn. I contacted Del Monte sending them photos (I wrote a post about it) and they were really blasé about it saying “well humans don’t touch the corn or the cans – it is all done mechanically.” No creamed corn for me since that day and I don’t eat anything out of the can while spooning it without digging down first!
