  2. Sad to see the leaves on the ground and off the trees … next will be “Mom, can we get a puppy?” Hope you have power tonight. I heard they may cut power in some cities.

    1. It’s windy and warm. Feels so weird that the air still feels like early autumn. Sometimes our Christmas Day is sunny, which doesn’t feel very festive.
      lol…Chris hears that question from us all the time. It’s not only the kids, it’s me too. But he is opposed to us getting pets that require lots of care. Kids and I still research potential dogs and I almost got Chris to agree once.

      1. Our weather has been weird for months.
        Just before Labor Day, it was downright chilly, that you needed a heavy sweater or light jacket – it was not normal at all. I went to Lake Erie Metropark and could have used a pair of gloves – my hands were that cold! And the night before we had a minor earthquake – more weirdness.
        There is the one type of dog with no shedding – I read about that breed from time to time and it is for people who have various allergies.

      2. There are hypoallergenic dogs, but Chris still says no. He is not so easily persuaded. Even if we got one it would be too much for us. I’m thinking of its cuteness more than the work involved in taking care of it.
        What a wild weather streak you’ve had. It’s been wild here too; raining this weekend and very cold. Let’s take care and not catch cold, flu, or that other serious thing that turned our world upside down. Be safe and take care!!

      3. Well I know when I was a kid, the dog was bought for me, but I never walked it or cleaned up after it – I was too young for the responsibility. Our dogs were never trained well and had quirks and the spaniel was never housebroken and my mom said “Co-co has to go – now!” Yes, the weather is so dicey and now with all the gatherings over Thanksgiving, you are scared to venture outside your house … I am glad I did groceries and errands back in October/early November. Now is not the time to interact with anyone outside your family if at all possible. You stay safe and take care of you and the rest of the family Esther.

      4. Doggies have training lessons at pet shops. I think there’s even a dog graduation from these workshops. lol. I can’t imagine potty training a dog and being consistent with it. I’ll just admire their cuteness from afar and stay farther away from dangerous looking dogs.
        Yes, I agree this is not the time to be a social butterfly.

        Our neighbors use a service to wash their dogs; mobile doggie grooming.

      5. Yes, cuteness from afar and no responsibilities and no emotions either when something happens … that is why no more pets for me. It was too upsetting to me when I lost my last bird who was a companion pet and I am here all alone, so he was a great companion. But every time it called for volatile weather, I’d worry if we’d lose our power – would he be too hot, or too cold and I could not take him to the basement as I had been sprayed for spiders/centipedes years before and I still find bodies so obviously it is strong stuff. Canaries are very susceptible to respiratory illnesses, so after Buddy had a stroke, I had him euthanized and said “no more” … now I have angst over the hawk and the squirrels. 🙂 I follow a couple of neighborhood forums and they mention crime and also ask for referrals for services. There is a vet tech who does nail trimming in her van … I guess she is very gentle and her customers (humans and dogs) really like her. I wonder if she does grooming too? Especially in this COVID time, better than going to a vet’s office.
