Flower of the day: October 6, 2020. Autumn leaves

All these colorful leaves will soon flutter to the ground. It happens too quickly and when the wind picks up, more will drift to the ground. But they are beautiful in displaying their vibrant warm colors before they say their final farewells to this season.

Thanks Cee for hosting this FOTD challenge! Stay well and have a great start to the weekend.https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/59080076/posts/48778

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

    1. Thank you so much! I love autumn leaves too and to see the daily changes in them are fascinating.
Have a great start to the weekend and stay well! COVID numbers are on the rise again in CA. It’s been up and down…whew…God bless!

      1. Yes, this winter wave of COVID is not good. WA, OR, and CA joined to have restriction for travel between states. Entering OR and OR must be self quarantine for 14 days. We canceled our Thanksgiving trip to Portland.

      2. Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear about your cancelled trip. You guys must be bummed about that, as well as your daughter’s family.
It’s better to stay safe and healthy for everyone’s sake. Hopefully next year it will be be different and we can go back to our traditions.
We’ll stay home too this holiday. Just ordered our Thanksgiving meal and afterwards we’ll put up our Christmas tree.
I hope you stay uplifted and can skype with your family!!

      3. Agree…even my kids are saying the days are going too fast. This could be a blessing in disguise for this year. I heard time passes faster as you get older, but this is moving at lightning speed.
I’m excited for Thanksgiving next week. It’ll be nice to slow down on purpose. Any plans for Thanksgiving?

      4. It’s good you’re kids think time goes by fast, that means they’re not bored. They have enough to keep them busy and perhaps not enough time to do what they want to do.

It will be just the two of us this Thanksgiving since we cancelled our trip to Portland due to the new Covid restriction.

      5. Thanksgiving is just the four of us this year too! We picked up our holiday meal from Whole Foods this afternoon and that’ll be more than enough for us.
I’m sure there’s lots of disappointment that families and friends can’t get together, but I think it’s wise to stay safe…the numbers are alarming for CA again!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you get to visit your daughter’s family soon. They must be bummed grandparents aren’t able to come this year…it’s baby’s first Thanksgiving!

    1. Thank you! Fall is one of my favorites too. It’s the transition between hot to cold and the leaves put on quite a color show for us all. Have a great start to the weekend and take care. It’s going to be a chilly weekend here and possibly some rain.
Stay well and let’s ride out the last couple of months well. 2020 has been too much to handle!!

      1. Yes, so much color to take in and in such a short amount of time to do so. Ours will be chilly and rainy too – starting late Saturday and most of Sunday. I always have things to do inside when weather forces me in … I have more photos to sort, but have to do “real work” like housework, laundry – exciting things.

      2. Mine are for tomorrow although we have 55 mph winds and rain still on tap. Don’t want to start anything big and power goes out. I did some laundry today as I didn’t want to lose power in the middle of a load. I like to procrastinate when it involves housework.

      3. My laundry pile stays a pile…little kids change frequently and mess up their clothes. lol
I hope that your power stays on consistently. The hassle must be troublesome. You have to plan ahead and get things done ahead of time. Winter is coming and it seems the Michigan weather is volatile. Hang in there Linda!!

      4. The weather has been absolutely crazy Esther … two bouts of high winds this week along, snow one morning, almost 60 this morning … just crazy weather, no other word for it. I do worry about the power, but worry more about it in a cold spell, like a Polar Vortex event. I worry about freezing pipes.
