sing like wildflowers

My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

A beautiful cover for a classic

    Love it 😍
That’s in my read aloud queue.
    Where’d you find it?

The watercolor painting of her portrait is the prettiest one I’ve seen. Got it on Amazon. …in the foreword, it explains that this edition is version B, where Anne made edits to her previous writing when she decided to submit her writing to be published after the war. A radio broadcast from the Dutch government announced how it wanted to publish personal accounts of people’s suffering during the war.
She has a great voice and dep insight. I read it again first to see if my kids were ready for this book. We talked about the holocaust and the lives of the people in hiding. I think the first part is until it gets into the teenager stuff that I don’t think my kiddos are ready for yet. Those topics start in the year 1944. But her insights and writing was beyond her years.
On YOutube search up the Anne Frank house museum and they have a mini tour and introduction to what their lives were like in hiding.

You got a great deal then! I’ll keep my eye out for it. 😊

I guess so…it was the first time I saw it on Amazon. Aw man, I wish they didn’t run out. Yes, keep an eye out for it; things do come back in stock. I’ll check too because Ellis wants her own copy, although I told her she can read it a couple of years later.

I liked that book as well Esther – it has been years since I read it though.

It’s a great book that I like to reread once in a while. I would love to visit the museum in Amsterdam.

My boss and his family just went to Amsterdam last Fall. He said there was lots to see – he is big on museums, especially art museums and so many people speak English there, so no language barrier at all.

It’d be an awesome place to visit!
