Blogging update: will post more soon

Hi everyone! It’s been days since my last post and I wanted to pop in and say “hello” to my dear readers.

I’ll post more soon when I get my replacement computer. In the meantime, sharing our backup one with my kids at a time when they have Zoom classes severely limits my time on it.

My laptop completely died 2 weeks ago when a new replacement charger refused to stay plugged in. It was held in place by taping it to the table, but that lost its effectiveness. It is now permanently retired.

Not to bore you with the details, but I’ve been on a destructive bent with our home electronics. In July, the replacement charger I ordered on Ebay for Ellis’ tablet (honestly, don’t know what happened) melted the charging port. And I accidentally cracked the laptop screen to our backup computer. My phone screen has been cracked for months when Elliot dropped it on the edge of a chair: and the crack has been getting larger. Eeeek!!

So I’m still here thinking about things to blog about, but won’t be regularly posting until the computer Chris wants to order is back in stock and set up by my helpful, problem solving, and tech savvy husband. (wink*wink: I hope he reads this)

Wanted to update you all in case you were wondering about my M.I.A. and my minimal reading and commenting on my followed blogs.

I found my first fall leaf yesterday…

Leaves are getting ready for fall

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

  1. Oh sending “wellness wishes for tech”
And whew – I cracked my last phone like three times – the back of it and front-
Anyhow – sounds like you have had many tech things – like the melting Cord?? Yikes

    1. Thank you for your well wishes! It surprises me how easily the phone screen can crack. Once I got out of the car, forgetting the phone was on my lap. I slammed the car door on it by accident. It bent in half. Unbelievable!!
I didn’t even know the cord could do that. Long story.
Hope you are well and having better luck with electronics!

      1. A most-awful and most-forgetable year for sure Ester. You popped up and assured us you were safe from the wild fires – now enjoy a little respite from blogging and save your brainpower to configure and learn how to use your new equipment.

      2. Thanks Linda! You leave lovely and encouraging comments. I hope you know how much it’s appreciated. 🤩
The smoke is taking this COVID-19 quarantine to a new level. Really home bound with air purifier on high level. Still need to get computer, but kids have become less possessive of it.
Hope you are well and having a good transition to fall. It’ll be officially autumn soon!

      3. I’ve been thinking of you and also Sabine, a fellow blogger who lives in Oregon fairly close to the fires. I thought of you as there was a small earthquake yesterday and they fear a landslide. How much more can you handle in California? The stress is off the charts for you guys. Take care of yourself and your family and hopefully normalcy returns soon.

      4. I can’t believe the number of natural disasters we’ve faced so far this year. Thankful that we’ve been spared from the wildfires. Rain would be wonderful for all of us, and if it’s not a horrible drought, we get it late fall.
Lack of fresh air was awful. We’re already cooped up at home from COVID precautions and then indoors because of the poor air quality. Double lockdown!
I agree…regaining some semblance of normalcy will be great! You stay well too.
