Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!
Why is your poor elf flat on his face? Was he imbibing a little bit too much fancy egg not last night? I am pretty sure that is grounds for firing. Nogging on the job. Am feeling silly may this have brought a smile to you face. 🙂

It did…bring a smile to my face. love the humor! “Nogging on the job” lol Poor Elf is stuffed away somewhere out of sight. Kids never warmed up to him.
Hope you are having a good weekend and the customers are not driving you crazy with the holiday shopping and the madness that comes with it!

Oh my! Poor Elfie. Looks like he’s working (or playing) way too hard!
🤣🤣
How’s your Christmas prep going busy homeschool mama?

Poor Elf gets little to no love at our home. Kids are scared of his cheeks and thinks it looks evil. I don’t know what that’s about. Just got him out for a scavenger hunt item.
We’re taking a homeschooling break for Christmas. It’s been a productive but rough semester with unexpected hospital stays, kitchen renovations, and too much Iready. I wonder why the assessments are occurring this frequently…disrupts the flow of our regular lessons. I’m learning most about making the most of each day; telling myself that learning is not only academics but how to live and grow into godly people. It’s messy business; wish it were linear and the path clearly laid out.
Audible is a new favorite thing for us.
How is your Christmas going? Are you taking a homeschooling break?
As always, cheers to you and your homeschooling spirit!!! Take care friend.

I see! If I’m being totally honest, I don’t blame your kids for not liking the elf. I never did much care for the elf on the shelf myself! I even went so far as to buy my kids knock off versions. Lol

We are starting our break next week. I agree with you about iready, the assessments did throw such a wrench in my plans. I have a hard enough time staying on schedule without throwing those into the mix so often.
You are so right, learning is not only academics. There is so much more to it than that! Homeschooling is a messy & difficult business and I too wish it were linear with a path clearly laid out.
Audible is one of my favorite things too!
What are you listening to right now?

He was snoozing – being an elf is hard work! Kids didn’t like elf cheeks or tag? 🙂

He wishes he could peacefully snooze or sit in one place peacefully. Kids have never warmed up to the elf and think his cheeks look evil. heh?! I don’t see what they see. He’s now squished somewhere, out of sight.
Got him out for a scavenger hunt item for the zoom Christmas party.
I hope you are having a mellow and safe weekend in the midst of this crazy Christmas season. Michigan is in the news for highest hospitalizations for covid…stay safe!!

I never had an “Elf on a Shelf” here at the house, though I know it’s not just for kids. Yesterday we had an ugly day, sleeting most of the day, so it was a good day to stay tucked inside the house. I did get out today to the Park. No Christmas shopping as it’s just me and I wouldn’t mix and mingle right now due to our COVID stats – we keep making the national news for our stats and the government sent in healthcare workers to relieve ours as they were working double shifts and are understaffed. It’s a very scary time – thank goodness for home schooling. Do you and the kids go on break tomorrow or wait until midweek?
