When I first saw this gigantic, sprawling tree at our hotel in San Diego, I thought it was a broad leafed palm tree. But on closer inspection and seeing the information sign, it was a Giant White Bird of Paradise plant. I had no idea this plant grew this tall and had different color flowers.

Goodness, I think we have some of these planted on the avenues near us. They are only a few years old so only half that size but I’m wondering what they’ll be like fully grown!
Ohhhh, you’re in for a treat!! These plants will provide a lot of shade and pretty flowers.
How tall are they now?
They vary, but over 7 foot.

We were all amazed at its sheer size! Interesting that the size and flower color is different from the usual ones we see.
I had no idea these could become so large. And white flowers? White flower loving me is all in for this one!
I did not know you were a white flower person! White flowers are beautiful and have such an innocent feel to them.

I was amazed by it! The usual Birds of Paradise I see is orange flowers. But white ones?!
