In the span of a week, Dart has shed its skin and eaten it (has nutritional benefits), feasted on many live crickets coated in calcium powder, taken countless naps, had its toe stuck under the coconut shell accessory, and got accidentally squished by mama’s hand (which was to prevent a big fall) and chirped (geckos can make sounds when feeling threatened). Overall, Dart has become more comfortable hanging out with us and is loved by us. We still like the name Jupiter too, so that will be its middle name.

He’s warming up to us now and we’re better at handling. The first few days were rough on everyone. lol

Welcome Dart! What a passage to your new home! Such a cutie!
Dart says, “thank you.” It’s been quite a journey and has accidentally been dropped two times already. oyyyyy! He’s calm at the start of handling outside of the tank, but then gets very squirmy and hyper.
So “Dart” it is – I like it and works for girl or boy gecko too. The skin shed and eat – wow. How often does that happen Esther? It’s like the Mama Goose laid those huge eggs, then ate the shells when the goslings hatched. That amazed me but she does it also for the nutritional value and to leave no trace of her babies for predators to find them. After hatching she abandons the nest.
