Well, you’ll never see another houseplant inside my house as I kill every one of them. No more poinsettias – they don’t even last ’til Christmas! You enjoy your weekend too Esther. We are suddenly 30 degrees colder than Wednesday. Time for gloves and hats.
Poinsettias seem hard to keep alive past Christmas! That’s why they sell such lovely fake ones at Michael’s. 😉
I just about kill every other plant too. The most successful one for me is pothos. Second successful is a zz. Succulents are my new favorite.
How did the weather change so drastically for you?! 30 degrees is huge. That’s precarious weather for catching a cold. Stay careful. We just got our covid shots last Thursday and everyone was out of it yesterday.

I am glad you could get your Covid shots … I wondered how long after having Covid you could get them. I can’t get mine until November since I got a booster in May. I’m not looking forward to it – I’m always very tired and feel nauseous as well. You all be careful too. I like silk flowers … I didn’t put my silk flowers out this Summer as I had the treecutters coming for the two trees in the backyard and my neighbor was getting siding and a new roof on my side so knew they would be stepping there. I need to strep up my game a little next year and put stuff out. Michaels for you and me …could get lost there for hours. I used to be bad about coming home with these artsy-fartsy projects and my mom would say “you wasted your money, you’ll never do that ….” I’d say “watch me” – never did them.
Michaels is too dangerous!! I buy things with good and ambitious intentions of making something, but they usually end up in the closet. I have to practice serious self control when I’m there. Your mom was right about Michaels…I’m sure there are so many people like us shopping at Michaels.
The covid shots stung this time and all of us were feeling sluggish for the day we got it and the whole next day. If you get nauseous, maybe you could try ginger tea, ginger candy, or licorice lozenge. Those are all natural remedies. It stinks to have nausea…such an awful feeling. Have you tried acupressure band for your wrist?

Hi Esther – I did not know about this product or it could help for plane rides. I am generally not ever nauseous except for the Covid boosters. I thought it was because I got it last time with the flu shot and this year (in May) with a tetanus shot and Hep-A shot. I went into CVS for a Covid booster and they pulled up my County Vaccination Record and saw I never had the Hepatitis-A series (two shots) and it had been over 10 years for a Tetanus booster … came home feeling like a pin cushion. Thanks for this tip – I don’t go til mid-November, so would have time to get it. I didn’t know about the ginger products either. My mom told me that when she was pregnant with me, she had morning sickness the entire first trimester and lost weight – maybe that’s why I was so tiny (I made up for it later at 5′ 9″).

Thank you! I’m surprised these plants are surviving as well as they are. Pothos is a hardy plant and is given me lots of confidence about growing indoor plants.

Money plant and aloe vera are great plants to grow!! Wishing you the best with them. I have an aloe vera plant too and it’s gratifying to see the baby aloe grow too. The baby ones that grow on the side are called “pups.” Isn’t that a cute name?!
