sing like wildflowers

My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

These are cute, but not very scary! I can imagine the crows coming in to perch on them!

I like the cute and happy- looking ones! I’ve seen some scary Halloween dolls around town, but I don’t take pictures of them. Lol

There were more intermittently placed in the downtown area. I wonder who decorated them!

How cute – I love scarecrows too and have done several blog posts in the past about the ones in the ‘hood and even made a special Thanksgiving post all about scarecrows sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner. Because I knew we were having three days of rain (we are day 2 of 3 today) I went out and took pictures of scarecrows and harvest décor in the neighborhood for my “Walktober” post next week. We have mostly green leaves still, but after the gusty winds, torrential rain and our first frost this week, the leaves will likely be “toast”.

Yes, I remember your scarecrow photos and the stories you do with them. You find some really good ones around you.
We have leaves falling too but nothing too dramatic yet. With the first rainfall, we’ll see more of them on the ground. It’s getting cooler, thankfully. This had to have been the hottest summer for us.

I saw even more cute scarecrows this morning on my walk to the Park and back, but I already put the post together and it is picture-laden, so no pics taken. I saw some gnome scarecrows. Something different. I’m taking the camera to the Park because there have been two coyote sightings and one deer sighting, both across the Creek. I’m glad you’ve finally cooled down – yay for that. You had some brutal Summer and Fall temps this year. I turned the water off and put the hose in the garage today as we are having a heavy frost tonight – if that happens, there goes everyone’s garden and pretty flowers. However we will rally back and be in the mid-70s on the weekend. The weather makes no sense these days!

        Gnome scarecrows! I love that.
Oh wow, you have interesting sightings. I’ll check out your blog soon. I haven’t been too active these days. As you know, so many appointments these days.

I actually did not include the gnome scarecrows at the last moment. I will see if I can find the photo of them which I deleted and send it to you. This guy put them out last year and relegated the former scarecrows that stood there to in his backyard – I can see them from the street. They were kind of cool, all in brown tones and long white beards.

    How cute 🥰
We’re working on some scarecrow mixed media art projects on regular sized paper not 3D. But it would be fun to make a 3D scarecrow.

That’s a great art idea for autumn! We bought 2 small pumpkins that kids will decorate to put out on our porch.
Once your kids finish the art, will you post it?

      1. heavenstobetty Avatar

Yes, I’ll post the art projects! They are still in progress… didn’t get to working on them today.

These are very cute Esther! Definitely not scare-a-crows to me. I like Autumn Vibes for Fun!

I hope you will post the pumpkins that your kids plan to decorate. Perhaps Darling Dart will enjoy watching the activity with the pumpkins.

Glad to hear you are home and back into routine, hopefully rested. ❤️

They definitely screamed autumn! The weather doesn’t feel like it yet but the leaves are starting to drop and change colors.

Kids did decorate the pumpkins last night but I forgot to take a picture of them. I will get it tomorrow and post. Darling Dart is not allowed on the dining table where we do our art, so he was in another room in his terrarium. lol. He’s been looking at the trick or treat pails instead.
