My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

Thank you, Dan, for hosting this challenge!

That glass bottom looks amazing, what a great way to see things.

It’s pretty cool to have a viewing area, but it would’ve been awesome if it were a tad larger.

Glass-bottom viewing areas are very cool!

      I wish they were larger!

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a glass-bottom boat before … very cool. The mirror with the two beauties looking into as well. 🙂 You probably have pictures from the San Diego Sea Aquarium as well for glass.

It was a cool boat ride, but the glass bottom tour was not what I imagined it to be. I thought there would be more glass area to see, but it was limited. By the time, the boat captain said to look for a sea turtle or something else, it was too late.
Thank you for your lovely comment!
We’ll visit Sea World this summer, so I’ll have some orca pics. Kids were terrified of orcas, but that fear has diminished. We’ll see how it goes!

That’s great – I know they like all the marine museums and attractions. I didn’t know it was a limited area to see so yes, that might be a problem if four people are crowding around a small area.

You’re right…we do all the ship museums and aquariums! I just found free passes on the library website for free tickets to Alcatraz Island; you have to reserve a date. So I’m wondering if we could make a trip out there.

I would love to do that tour of Alcatraz and the old cellblocks. I say go for it. I saw the island on my trip to California, but the tour of Alcatraz was not on the itinerary. Recently I saw a video someone did of the actual tour they took and it was interesting. They have left everything intact as it was when they closed.

I think it would be a great tour!! Gotta check and see when Chris can take a day off and if the free tickets coincide with that date. There’s lots of learning going on during field trips, but I cannot have another panic attack like I did today. Whew…it’s such a pain to get one when I’m out.

Yes, I imagine it would be scary and of course the kids were with you and not wanting to worry them. I hope you can coordinate it with Chris’ schedule and get the free tickets. It sounds interesting.

Yes, he said he’ll take a day off to go with us! Chris has a business dinner in Sausalito next week, so the kids and I are tagging along with him. While he’s at dinner, we’ll look around there and get dinner by ourselves. The drive over there will be nice…I think we’ll pass by the Golden Gate Bridge.

Oh, that is nice – I remember we went to Sausalito on the California coast trip I took in 1980. It was a very pretty place … well most of the places we went in California were nice, Carmel was another one.

      8. singlikewildflowers Avatar

Carmel is gorgeous! Never been to Sausalito so looking forward to it. Have no idea what we’re going to do, but it’ll be a nice drive.

      9. Linda Schaub Avatar

Yes, it was and I think where we had lunch was in a bay with a lot of boats and the restaurant jutted out into the bay. It was very pretty. In Carmel, the town was nice and we went to the Hog’s Breath restaurant that Clint Eastwood owned (at that time anyway). I don’t think we ate there, maybe just went to look at it – maybe it was closed that day.
