Cutting Teddy’s nails is a stressful thing for me! I did it once with kids’ help a few weeks ago, and I thought today would go well, too. Nope! I failed at the first nail, which bled from cutting it slightly shorter than necessary.
I’m not sure who panicked more: me or Teddy. I ordered a new nail clipper with a light attached to it. My heart sank when I saw the blood from his fingertip.
I may do some stress eating.

Ouch!
I know! It was awful and he squeaked too when he flinched.
I had that happen with our dog Teddy Bear, but only a few times. When never had to get Mr. Johnson’s nails trimmed, probably because he went on three walks a dog, some of it on pavement.
The pavement is like a natural nail filer!
It is!
Stress eating works … I hope Teddy is okay now. Did you find out if it is okay to use a styptic pencil? Esther, last night I was getting ready to shut down my computer and was still behind in Reader and decided to wait til today to read/comment. I am positive that there was a Teddy picture with this post … am I losing it, did you take it down … I had computer issues earlier tonight is why I’m asking. Other people’s posts have pics, so I am curious.
Teddy is okay! It was me freaking out mostly and kids reminding me often that I drew blood and cut his nail too short. He has so much fur on his paws that it’s difficult to reach his nails before he gets fussy and wiggles around.
No, you’re not losing it! I didn’t post a picture of Teddy. Maybe when I post about Teddy, your mind thinks a picture will follow. I know…Teddy is that cute! hehehehe
OK, I thought I was losin’ it. 🙂 When I first started blogging, I had no pics, a one-paragraph post and a one-word heading. I decided that was going to be my style, then added one picture to that mix. Now, there are 25 pics in a single post. Hmm. Teddy is cute – those ears, that little face!
Your posts have evolved for the better! But isn’t it hard to parse through all the photos and pick the best ones? That takes a lot of time and mental work.
Thank you! Teddy is our cutie.
Yes, it is … I sit there and can’t decide … is this one better than the other, so often when I sort them out, I take both, then when I’m ready for the actual post, I parse it down further … before I know it there are 25+ photos in the post. This Sunday’s post I had a lot more pink trees and goslings and had to just let them go as it was too many photos. Teddy is very sweet … blog fodder for many years. Look how many posts you got of Dart already. Oh ya, the kids too. 🙂
Yep, I have a lot of blog inspiration from Teddy and Dart! Teddy is doing well…he has his first show this Saturday. Not sure how it’s going to go since we have very little idea on what to do. They call his class and breed and we take him up to the table where the judges judge him against other rabbits in his breed. Since he’s 6 months old now, he is considered a senior buck.
“A senior buck” at only six months old … so no longer a baby/kit then.
You getting stress eating 🤢? I guess teddy is okay now. You don’t mind. You don’t get heart snak about saw blooding his fingertips.
Oh no! I hope you both are okay. *sends you both a hug*
We survived! All of us.
Thank you for the hugs. I was not doing well that evening and my kids reminded me time and time again that I cut his nail too short. I already knew that! Lol
Glad you’re doing better!
Thank u
