My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
That hog nose is strange enough, but purple? I went looking, and discovered they aren’t really purple. The color in the photo probably is caused by aquarium lighting, or camera settings, or both. Too bad, really!
Isnt it?! I was surprised when I saw this creature and had to make sure I take a frontal photo of it.
Your observation is probably accurate about the color.
Now that’s different and when I saw the first picture, before honing in on the pig nose feature, I almost thought it was a stingray as its flippers are so huge.

What a strange-looking creature.
I said the same thing and had to do a double take! Never expected to see a reptile like this one. Something from a cartoon!
Yes, a cartoon! Maybe your kids could draw one.
That’s a good idea!
😀
He’s an oddity, Isn’t he? Hope I haven’t hurt his feelings xx
I think he may appreciate your comment! He likes to be an oddity and stand out in the aquarium.
I had never seen or heard of a pig nose turtle. Thanks for the two images that show off its odd features. 😊

It’s one heck of funny looking creature!
Yes it is!
What a funny turtle.
Agree!
What a unique animal!
I couldn’t believe my eyes! The nose and the face…
