My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

Hmm – I’ve not been in a Hallmark store in forever. Now you can get greeting cards at the grocery store and I really only send e-cards anyway. My mom and I would go in there several times a year to buy cards, Christmas ornaments for our miniature tree and jigsaw puzzles … never saw a Jesus stuffie before though.

Same here! I haven’t been to one in over 10 years. I had no idea that physical stores were still open. I used to love going into one and seeing all the cute things they had. They had Christmas ornaments already. I’ve never seen a Jesus stuffie this large. I need one!

My mom and I bought a miniature Hallmark tree and every year we would go and buy a few more mini-ornaments for it. They were very tiny. But they also had their various new dated ornaments. We used to get a new nature ornament by Dutch artist Marjolein Bastin every year, not for the tree, but to hang on ornament hangers. They had an ornament preview party every July – they called it “Christmas in July” – the Hallmark employees would dress like elves and pass out cookies and punch and the store was decorated like they do at Christmas. I got a lot of my Boyd’s bears (stuffed and resin) during our trips to Hallmark. They had a great collection there!
