sing like wildflowers

My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

For me, fairgrounds are creepy in the daytime, too!

        Yes—and depressing, too.

Yes, especially being in fluorescent green!

Hope all is well with Mom.

Yes, very unsettling and quiet! It was like one of those scary movie scenes.

Yes, it did seem that way!

Oh my…it was dark and empty.

Mom is doing better! Sore from the surgery and still in the hospital. I saw the mass that the surgeon removed and I can see why it was so painful and uncomfortable for her. Thank you for asking!

That’s great news Esther. Hopefully Mom stays a few days in the hospital to recover and be mobile, so your dad doesn’t have to help her as much, especially now that you’ll be back in school mode, going there while she recuperates probably wouldn’t work so well.

She was discharged last night and my uncle drive her home! The hospital food was not to her liking and really difficult for her to stomach, so she’s happier at home. She has someone to cook for her thankfully.
But guess what?! Both my parents call me panicking that my mom lost her wallet at the hospital. So 2 hours after she gets home, I had to do the phone thing all over again. Call the hospital, talk to the nurse and security, cancel credit card, replace driver’s license and there was more to do today. I just rolled my eyes that the drama continues. So my dad went to the hospital this morning and found out it’s at lost and found. ugh!! The nurse had put it in the safe for her while she was admitted. So I got a ton of phone calls about that and other things today too.

That’s great she is out of the hospital and someone is helping with cooking so it doesn’t all fall on your dad (or somehow on you). Oh for goodness sake – well thankfully the wallet was found, intact and you have no phone or need to deal with unauthorized charges, but now you had to go through all that work to cancel everything … and any automatic billings to the credit card(s) has to be changed. You have my sympathies Esther!

She is home and feeling more comfortable in her own space. She calls me about 10 times a day just to hear my voice, ask what I’m doing, etc. It does get tiring but I think talking with me reassures me. Oh well. I’m happy to give her that reassurance. But then there are those emergencies when it’s really on with all the phone calls and translations and putting out fires. I think I’m out of that phase for the time being.

That’s good the miscellaneous crises flames have been extinguished for now … I hope they stay that way for your sake Esther. You need a break as school starts, the holiday season eventually gets here, etc.

This is a look at the entrance to the Santa Clara County fair! Doesn’t it look creepy at night? We were at a hall there for a 4-H dance and when it was over, we looked over and saw that. Walk to the car was silent and swift. The back entrance was closed and pitch dark. I didnt know there was another exit that was brightly lit.

        Oh my!
Yes, it is creepy in the dark!

We shot out of there so fast! Fair starts this Wednesday so it’s all set up and abandoned till then. A clown picture there would’ve made us scream next level. lol
