Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

You got some rain! That’s good. We had some but not pouring rain. The photos are beautiful, Esther!

We got some serious rain!! It doesn’t rain this much but the steady downpour was unbelievable. And this past weekend, the sun was out and no sign of rain. I think we’re getting more rain this week, but the forecast is a hit or miss.
Hope SoCal gets more rain too!!
Thank you for your comment and for liking my picture!! Love it. 🙂

It seems CA. is almost always in a drought! Remember a few years back when washing cars at home was discouraged and people would upload pictures of others washing cars. That was nuts!

Rain is good as long as it does cause mudslides and, not to mention, wiping away scenic highways. I feel for your state … it’s been so tough, between the wild fires, the mud slides, the COVID situation. Very tough times for California.

California is having some major problems since last year!! We’ve never had dry thunder like last summer, high number of Covid cases and deaths, wildfires, rainstorm, and I hope that’s the end of natural disasters for us.
We had a 4.something earthquake 2 weeks ago and all four of us just looked at each other wondering if we should duck or wait it out to see if it gets worse.
Mudslides and floods are feared for the incoming rainstorm this week. Best to stay home but I feel for the people living in the mountains or near beaches. And I feel for the homeless people living in tents and in cars. About 2 years ago, tents started showing up on the side of highways and kept growing. They get cleared and new ones appear. It’s been a safety issue for those people and for drivers. Very sad situation, and children become homeless too with their parents.

Unfortunately the weather everywhere is just going to get worse … it is not enough that life is not normal with COVID, but the weather is not normal either. I know that the East Coast is having this massive storm and I feel for them, but I have to say I feel for California more as you have had a smorgasbord of weather-related problems. We’ve actually had a fairly decent Winter, but the rest of February is supposed to be bad with snow and cold. Thursday night we have this rain turning into snow, then rain again … that’s end up as slush or freezing rain depending on the temps. And then an Arctic blast for 5-6 days where the high is in the teens – oh joy for that. I would not mind so much if the weather was clear, but we’ll have some snow events too. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and your family in my prayers that you remain unscathed.

You gotta stop with the lovely comments!! j/k telling myself…must stay humble, must stay humble. Heart is happy to hear “artsy” in relation to my photos. Thank you!!
I really like other people’s photographs of raindrops and dew in nature. This was my first time capturing it like this.
Rain is rare here and when it does rain, I don’t stop to take a closer look. But now that the kids are older, they wait and help me find things to photograph.

I like that expression of “pouring on sugar!” It’s brilliant. Yes, I know you are sincere in your comments and I appreciate them much. It’s nice you point out specific things you like about my photos and your interpretations of it; they help me improve my budding skills. So keep commenting and let me know your thoughts.
