Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

      1. Yes, I was thinking she was telling her ducklings that this duck was only pretending to be Daddy. 🙂 We have decoys all around the house … my mother liked ducks – wooden, resin, china … we got ’em. 🙂

      2. I remember you mentioned something about having duck figurines in your home. I didn’t know it started with your mother.
In the Korean traditional wedding, a couple gets a gift of wooden carved duck set as a symbolism of happiness, fidelity, and lots of babies. Very colorful and pretty. Here’s a link to check them out. https://www.oio-7.top/products.aspx?cname=korean+wedding+ducks&cid=41
My mom used to have a Korean wedding business where she helped families customize the Korean part of their weddings. I lived around that stuff growing up. If I searched around their home, I could probably find a set somewhere.
Sorry about the long link…I didn’t know how to make it a click.

      3. Just visited the Etsy link and these wooden ducks are beautiful! lol, the rubber duckies are too funny.
In the weddings, the ducks are wrapped in special cloth with the heads sticking out. Now I might have to get a pair. Kids will think it’s a hoot to pick it out for us. Chris may say “no” wondering its usefulness. lol. He’s the practical one at home.

      4. I guess it is good one of you is practical … my mom and I split all our expenses down the middle. I used to be more frivolous when I worked full-time on site, but my mother would give me “the look” like “really Linda?” They were beautiful … I am glad you told me about them.

    1. I’m glad you like the picture! It was a funny sight that I’ve never seen before. The ducklings were cute and many.
Hope you are doing well and enjoying July. Hard to believe we’re midway through summer.
