On March 11th, Ellis removed some leaves from this succulent plant and propagated 3 of its leaves in the soil. We had realistic expectations: they could either grow or flop. But we had nothing to lose in trying. Halfway through the month, I couldn’t help myself and tugged at the leaves to see if they rooted, and sure enough they easily pulled out of the soil. Undeterred, my hopelessly optimistic attitude towards this plant made me stick them straight into the dirt, instead of placing them in sideways.
You won’t believe what has happened!! They all rooted and one of them is showing new growth near the soil. And on the original succulent plant, there is an offshoot growing.
The bottom half of the original succulent plant has shown considerable growth, as well. I was nervous that it may wither, but it has grown leaps and bounds.

Lol. Thanks, Linda. We are wary of overestimating our abilities and call ourselves the “brown thumb” on our way to becoming green thumbs.
Well, it all takes time and I used to be successful in the garden, but could not keep a poinsettia until Christmastime when I took one to work. Every year, I’d get two of them … one for work on my desk and one for my mom for the windowsill. Hers would be still going strong in March, but mine, wilted and just a stick by Christmas. 🙂
