sing like wildflowers

My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

They are prickly! Found near the lambs’ pasture

No pictures of lambs today. They didn’t feel social at all and even couldn’t be bothered with alfalfa hay either. Unbelievable! They adore alfalfa hay.

Last week we got closer to the lambs and even hand fed 2 of them, but today was a whole different story. Plus, Ellis has been feeling under the weather since last night, so we had to shorten our outing.

The pictures below are from last Thursday.

Ellis’ arm 💪. Lol
Elliot’s arm 💪 . 😀

They are getting “chonky” … the lambs I mean.

WordPress just wigged out … I am four days behind in Reader and had scrolled down to pick up where I left off and suddenly my cursor had me up at the top again – sigh. I exited, went back into into the Reader icon and started scrolling down again and on the left-hand side it says “recent posts” with a checkmark. But you can’t get rid of the checkmark. No words, but I mention it to you as you said you were behind in Reader.

The WordPress Reader just went nuts a few minutes ago.

Thanks Liz – whew! I thought it was just me … I thought I’d finally get caught up here tonight. Thanks again for letting me know.

      2. Liz Gauffreau Avatar

You’re welcome, Linda. I thought it was just me!

WP has its quirks, so I thought it was another quirk, but a bigger one than usual. I appreciate you telling me Liz.

      4. Liz Gauffreau Avatar

Mine seems to be back to normal this morning. (Or as normal as WP can be.)

      5. Linda Schaub Avatar

Hi Liz – mine was working when I looked earlier and now it is only showing recent posts from today. Is that happening to you again?

      6. Liz Gauffreau Avatar

No, mine is still showing everything. Knock wood!

      7. Linda Schaub Avatar

OK, thanks Liz … it was working earlier, so this time I wrote to WP and got an automated message to check their “help section” and if I still had a problem to contact them. Sigh. I am even further behind now.

      8. Liz Gauffreau Avatar

I’m very sorry to hear that. It’s so frustrating.

      9. Linda Schaub Avatar

I hope the Happiness Engineers have a solution Liz.

I just went there and it is back … I am not writing them because this time all I did was refreshed the page and I’m sure that didn’t help, but I’m passing that info along to you in case it happens to you again. I’m staying here in Notifications and not closing out of Reader!

Thank you for the follow-up, Linda!

      12. Linda Schaub Avatar

Well I spoke too quickly and don’t want to keep bothering you. If I am able to get into a post, then go to the next one, it send me up to the top again. It is frustrating.

        TD

That’s exactly what it does to me too since yesterday and all day today.

      14. Linda Schaub Avatar

Thanks for telling me TD because this was happening all last night and I could only get through about ten posts, then could see nothing. Also, every time I commented, I would go up to the top of Reader again, so I had to read posts on people’s actual blog site, which we USED to be able to comment on that way as a last resort, but now you have to log in with credentials and I still can’t get in. Now I can tell WordPress when they contact me that two people had the same issue as me.

      15. Liz Gauffreau Avatar

Do you think the “Happiness Engineers” could help?

      16. Linda Schaub Avatar

I did write them last night Liz and haven’t heard back. I just went through all the bloggers I subscribe to and subscribed by e-mail. I am now filtering them to a separate e-mail folder as this is my primary e-mail address. I wish they could fix this problem as I prefer Reader.

P.S. – I even tried a different browser, so it is not my computer, but a WP thing.

Thanks, D! The farm has plenty to keep us company. If only the lambs liked to be around humans, we’d be there everyday.

Thank you, Liz! Ellis is feeling better now. She has those days where we are all struck with panic.

You’re welcome, Esther. I can understand the panic!

So nice Slender Flower. I like. Beautiful photos. Ellis even hand fed 2 of them. Beautiful & strong Elliot’s arm💪💯!

Ellis feeling better now. Tack Care! My friend, Esther!

      Beautiful flowers at the farm!!
The lambs get giving eye contact to the kids while eating alfalfa hay from their hands…kind of telling them with their eyes to not get any closer.
Ellis is better now. Thank you. It was a bad day and I thought the lambs would revive her, but it wasn’t the case. The drive home was stressful.

Why it was a bad day ? What have you problem ? why have you stress? It must be so difficult to stay positive and cheerful for everybody, but you manage it,My friend!

        Tack care, Eshter!

      2. singlikewildflowers Avatar

Ellis was feeling sick, so that’s what caused the stress. I somehow manage! Thanks for asking. 🙂

How odd about the lambs! Still, they look healthy enough. Hope Ellis is OK too 🤗🩵

    1. singlikewildflowers Avatar

Yes, they do not like to be around humans. They got close once for the alfalfa hay, but if we made any movements, they would be gone in a flash. All we want to do is pet them!!
Ellis was not well on Thursday and got the family worried. When she gets sick, her condition spirals downward quickly and we begin to panic. But then after a day, she is fine. Wow! My blood pressure goes back and forth. This was her second sickness of day days in 2 weeks and I had a tearful meltdown that night. I felt much better after a good cry!

It must be so difficult to stay positive and cheerful for everybody, given past experiences, but you manage it, Esther.

I’ve never seen a thistle like this — it’s very pretty. I love that last photo of the lambs; it makes me want to pet them!

    1. singlikewildflowers Avatar

Thistles are prickly but look pretty!
We want to pet them too, but they are extremely skittish and prefer to be far far away from humans. Next Sunday, we’ll have a chance to pet them when they get weighed. It won’t be a petting with them gladly enjoying our company, but they will go into a chute to step over a scale. We can then pet the top of their backs and head. Our project leader mentioned that if we really want to pet them, she could flip the lamb…the position they sit when they get sheared. If that happens, you bet I’ll be taking lots of photos!!
