It was fun and way too much chocolate for all of us! We still have more but the pile is slowly dwindling.

So cute – very clever costumes. The mustache on the mask – something to look back on in 20-30 years and say “really – we did that then?”

I didn’t think we would have the mustache on time but it got delivered 3 hours before trick or treating. There wasn’t a big group of kids but just enough to have fun. Some neighbors set up a sort of block party for the kids. Wow, that was so thoughtful!
It’ll be good memories for them when they’re older. They missed dressing up last year, so they were determined to get those TREATS!!!
Yes, both costumes were sweet – please tell them and it is wonderful memories for them and the pictures too. I still don’t know why there were no pictures of me at Halloween – like you I was an only child and many photos taken of me over the years.
They’ll be happy to hear that Linda, my blogger Michigan friend who befriends squirrels and crazy adventures with animals, sends her greetings and thumbs up on the costumes.
Yes, very very cute. Kids grow up way too fast these days. They are all about tech, their devices – so it’s nice to see them doing “kid-type” things like I remember doing.
These are sweet memories. When kids were super small, we made costumes together out of thick poster board and shoulder straps glued onto it. Ellis was Mercury, the smallest planet, and Elliot as Neptune (all painted indigo). It was messy and fun making it but it looked nothing like we had imagined. lol
Yes, it takes a lot of work and hopefully everyone knows what it was. I thought it was obvious we were small and large cars – we even had gray satin bumpers I made and we used velcro to attach to the cars – we had “I love Detroit” bumper stickers and some people still asked “what are you?” The person who won had a rented devil costume … anyone can do that, just rent a costume and he put red paint on his face.
Packaged costumes are convenient but it makes it more fun to add personal flair to it. I wasn’t aware costumes were rented out; wonder if the renters worry about hygiene issues or how well the costumes are sanitized. Yep, germaphobe here.
Velcro bumper stickers sound cute!
I was a germaphobe before COVID, so like you, the whole COVID pandemic just flips me out. We had a big costume store in a nearby city for years – the owners retired, but they had every costume you could imagine. Some were costumes that local theatre groups would rent. Yes, I bought some shiny gray satin material, stuffed it and made two bumpers, then used Velcro on bumpers and on the box to get them to stick and not fall off. We used a reel-to-reel for wheel spokes. Little kids’ horn. It was a lot of fun.
