Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

    1. Let’s not get started about getting behind! I am so much.
You noticed I change by profile pic. I got bored and started messing around with my pictures and wondering how to change up my blog. I stopped there. Once I get into the themes, I can go on for hours and have very little to show for that time. WP!! Too many options but too hard to implement change. lol

      1. I did notice – I’ve not changed my profile pic nor my theme because I’m sure if I change my theme, I can’t go back – I think it is called “2010 Theme” and it’s probably obsolete now. I tweaked mine to add a gallery of favorite photos, but should update that gallery.

      2. If you like your theme, no need to touch! I changed my theme last year to a premium one because of the front page photo feature, but that seems to be the only thing that’s cool. It’d be fun to experiment with different themes if I had more time and energy. I’m not changing mine for a while though except the profile pic is easy to switch out. All about simple things.

      3. Simple is best for me too. Some themes are very complex. I used the most-basic and simple theme I could find when I put my blog together in 2013. (And it still took an entire weekend to write my first, long post and set everything up.)

      4. An entire weekend?! That’s fast learning. I don’t remember how long it took me but it was more than the weekend. You’ve been blogging for 9 years? My five year anniversary is coming up soon.

      5. I have a very simple theme and then after five years I tweaked it to add a gallery of pictures and some widgets but it took me five years to do that. 🙂 I didn’t know you were blogging that long … it will be ten years for me next February 11th.

      6. I’m sure WP has lots of cool features but the time it takes to learn seems much.
Yep, next month will be five years. And you’ve been blogging twice as long as me…very cool! I’m glad you kept going even though you had a slow start. Slow and steady wins the race!

      7. Always – I don’t use a lot of the features in the block editor. I have a Windows 10 laptop my boss got for when he moved to Windows 10 – it is sitting on my stove for three years – nowhere else to plug it in. I’m still using Windows 7 because I like it better.

      8. Well we use Windows 10 at work and Monday I lost my connection – computer guy fixed it and it worked a couple of days. Friday it went down again and I contacted him by phone and e-mail. He never responded. So I had to have my boss send me things to my home e-mail and I have Word, so typed it here. I’ve been dragging my heels on learning Windows 10 and I have a lot in this laptop for blogging. I spent a good part of today trying to take some stuff and archive or delete it to pare down my files. I am trying to stay more current with posting. I have enough posts to take me thru Father’s Day (June 19th) as of now.
