Love the squirrels!
Thank you Linda! I wish the pictures showed the real smallness of these little squirrels; tiny and bumbly and goofy.

In all my walks, I’ve never seen a baby squirrel. I know their moms care for them in the nest until they are three months old. These were nice finds on your nature walk Esther.
You would’ve loved these baby squirrels!! They were small and goofy in their running arounds. Your probably would’ve been able to interact with them with your keen squirrel knowings.
You never know…you may just run into a baby squirrel this summer. Remember last year you had the lucky incidents with all the ducklings and chicks?!
Sometimes I wonder if I do interact with baby squirrels and just think they are smaller than usual, especially as I’m sure that the moms/dads let their youngsters know who is safe to approach. I liked it better when I could go along the trail and they came up to me, but now laying down treats in the three separate spots, I know they are safe from the hawks. We have a woman who walks with a golf club in case a squirrel comes up to her and she will hit it … she used to hit them with a big tree branch she carried around and I made a comment to her about it and not to do that as they were not going to hurt her. She went on a racist rant about White people who are stupid for feeding squirrels as they are wild animals that can get their food on their own and I told her I, a White person, was offended by her statements and feed the squirrels and birds because I enjoy it as part of my morning escape from the world to a peaceful nature nook. She sneered at that and I said that hitting them when they are friendly is cruel and truly, if you wanted them to attack you, just keep doing it. No words.
