sing like wildflowers

My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

The outdoor play space tree at the Academy of Science that is perfectly safe for climbing. We love it too.

A perfect tree for climbing and I liked that they pulled a” switcheroo” for the later photos.

This tree is the perfect height and has enough solid branches for holding on. Elliot climbs one tree by our house but getting up on the branch is troublesome. I helped a few times…no way! My back resisted.
Chris helped Ellis up onto the tree; if you look at it closely, you could see her nervous to sit on that branch. I like how you called it a “switcheroo.”

I think I remember you said one time that the kids wanted to climb this tree in a comment to me awhile ago (or maybe a post). I have never climbed a tree as a kid – we didn’t have any in Canada as it was a new sub and we had no grass and all clay when we moved in and we left when I was ten. So no trees at home to climb on, nor nearby. Likely my parents would have said “no” to the idea if they got wind of it – they were so strict. Clumsy me says I’d likely have fallen and broken an arm. Probably Ellis realizes that a broken arm or leg would result in a protracted hospital stay and could cause complications and, for someone who has logged a lot of hospital time in her young life for her heart condition, she wanted to “jolly along” but was apprehensive about doing so.
