My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Decorated garage door. Various texture and shapesTrain entrance. Casa De FrutaOur fridge that died from burnt motor. Good times with this fridge. Now replaced.
At first I thought the garage door had light that lit up so you could find the garage in the dark. 🙂 I didn’t know you participated in “Thursday Doors”.
That garage door was so pretty…it would be nice to have a garage door lit up like that all year round.
The “Thursday Door” challenge is fun and when I see good looking doors when I’m out, I can’t resist taking their pictures. There’s many attractive doors out there but I stop myself when it’s people’s front doors. I think people may think it’s weird or violates their privacy when I point my camera at their doors. lol
I think so too. I did the “Thursday Door” challenge a couple of times – it was fun. Once I took pictures of a big house with Christmas wreaths in every window and was walking toward home, when a car slowed down, women rolled down her window and she demanded to know why I was taking photos of their house. She was nasty to be honest. I told her about my blog and after that I ordered some business cards when I came home and carry a few when I go out.
Eeeek, that must’ve been an unsettling and shocking encounter! I wish she could’ve been more amiable because if her house was decorated, you would expect people to take pictures of their house. Maybe she had a prior bad experience.
Good idea about the business cards!
Yes, I am careful now, but then, it was before I went to parks, had not discovered Council Point Park yet, so I was a bit limited on what to write about. I got a deal on the business cards so ordered them that evening.
Yes, it was Vistaprints and I heard their ads on the radio. I know you can create business cards at Walgreens site as well. Then you don’t have to pay transportation and worry about porch pirates or package out in the rain.
Oh, you’d be surprised! We have porch pirates a plenty. Sometimes we see opened boxes thrown on the ground with the contents taken out. Some small packages get dropped off in the mailbox, if they’re small enough, but usually they get delivered to the porch. Can’t leave it there alone for too long…porch pirates. Very annoying and feel violated.
It is getting worse! We just got a message from our community chat that one of the mailboxes was forced open. Man, what is up with some people?! Even the post office put up a notice that they’re noticing an uptick in stolen mail.
No “like” for this comment – that’s terrible Esther. Are you on Facebook and does your HOA or your neighborhood have a forum for residents on general happenings or even crime happenings. I follow two such forums in my City and lots of people rifling through cars at night or a kid whacking the heads off snowmen. Lots of snowmen around from our big snow last Wednesday. Life is just a little too crazy for me these days. You can get that feature from the US Post Office to get a preview of your mail, but I knew someone who had it and I thought it was a preview of that day’s delivery of mail but it tells you a day or so ahead.
