Frenzied day

I held up pretty well this week but last night I couldn’t sleep. Wide awake until 4:30 a.m. Why does every sound get amplified at night? Took 2 Advils for an aching knee.

I already have issues with insomnia but it gets worse when Chris goes on business trips. He comes home tonight, so I should sleep better.

Trying not to be a grumpy butt. Elliot’s arm is doing better and the pain has subsided. The next step is to be able to move the arm up to his head…still experiencing pain in that position. Elliot finished his math class. Ellis is doing math too, hating life with each multiplication question. I’m guzzling coffee and writing in here to avoid the afternoon realities of the day. lol.

Geesh, I wish I could be a spirit-filled mother who can be joyful and takes things in stride. It’s only January and I’m feeling the pressure of homeschooling second semester. Relieved that God still loves me despite my flaws and can turn the day around, no matter how late or too far gone it seems.

Just swimming along, trying to get back into the groove of things

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!

    1. A little dip in motivation mid January for me! I think a good night’s sleep will help me tremendously. Yes, we can do this!! We’ve only started and have ways to go and days to catch up. Isn’t this wave a part of the homeschooling experience? Praying God keeps us mamas encouraged and patient with the process. 🙂

  1. Hope you had a good night’s sleep! The post-holiday slump is Real!!
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (it’s our homeschool memory verse right now for me more than the kiddos)

  2. Well this week began with the MLK holiday for some (but not all – grr) and also “Blue Monday” which is supposed to be the most down day of the year … the January blahs, the realization that the holiday season, so anticipated, is over for 11 more months, not to mention the constantly gloomy, gray days. It is disheartening to say the least, coupled with Elliot’s arm and Chris’ departure on a business trip and knee pain. Hang in there Esther!
