Ellis woke up with a migraine headache and threw up. Right now she’s chilling out in the living room watching her “comfort” show Bluey. Solution is to relax and ride it out smoothly without exacerbating it.
Elliot is in accommodating mode…too bad he doesn’t know how to make my coffee yet. An unexpected migraine forces all of us to mellow out and slow down.

Hope she’s feeling better soon. Both my daughter’s have migraines and they say they sure are not fun.
I hope your daughters don’t get it often. Migraines are awful!
For Ellis, I try to nip it in the bud before she starts the cyclic vomiting. So when her head hurts and vomiting begins, I get frantic. Thankfully, it passed without incident.
I used to get those migraines. Not fun at all.
Agree….not fun at all. Just a big throbbing pain in the head.
It sounds like you don’t get them anymore. I hope that’s the case.
Yes, I don’t get migranes anymore. Good riddance!!
Poor girl. I used to get migraines that caused nausea. Awful. Mine were due to crazy high blood pressure so they’re under control now.
We still haven’t seen Bluey, we’ll have to try it out. What streaming platform is it on?
Sounds like you need a Keurig so Elliot can make the coffee!
It’s great you found out what caused the migraine and a solution. Your body was telling you something was wrong. God’s design is marvelous. But migraine with nausea is scary! For Ellis that combination can trigger the cyclic vomiting.
Disney Plus? It maybe on YouTube also but only clips, not full episodes. You can check out the Bluey soundtrack on YouTube music.
hahaha, funny you mention Keurig. We just got one the other day for days when coffee making is too hectic with kids. Must teach the kids how to use!!
My youngest 2 kiddos make coffee punch cards and beg to make my husband “coffee service”, then they hole punch the decorated 3×5 cards. They love it!
That’s adorable!!
I’m lucky – I’ve never had a serious Migraine and I usually get flashy-lights in the corner of one eye long before one starts, allowing me to take counter-measures. I hope Ellis grows out of them👍 I’ve never seen Bluey – looks like a fun children’s program😎
The body is so smart! It’s great you know that warning signs so you can take counter-measures. We’re learning Ellis’ trigger signals too. Hopefully she’s growing out of cyclic vomiting, which is a type of migraine, but then it’s turning into a head migraine. At least there’s no throw up and dehydration. Ack! Both are awful really.
Bluey is so fun, lighthearted, and is an Australian production of a Heeler dog family with emphasis on play, growing up, and parent involvement. We love it!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting! Have a great start to the weekend. 🙂
I’m reading this 10 days after the fact so Ellis is better now I’m sure. I just heard of a new medicine for migraines on the news yesterday. Something radical which will change migraine sufferers’ lives forever. I realize it may not work for Ellis as it may affect her heart or interact with other medicines she may take. But any news on improvements to serious illness is great – much better than sending up a rocket into space that was 3-D printed, but that’s just my opinion.
It looks like the medicine is only for adults … even turning 10 is a little too young. Will send the article in a separate comment in case you missed it.
Here you go – I am sure your ears would have perked up if you heard “new migraine medicine” though:

Thank you Linda for always thinking of us and sending us helpful links!! After your comment, it showed up on my google feed too. It can get rid of a migraine within 30 minutes?
I hope this means that children’s migraine medicine is not far behind.
I hope it is in the works for children too Esther. That would be great for when Ellis gets a migraine and to have it go away so quickly. What a Godsend this medicine has the potential to do
