Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!
It’s always fun to find a bird’s nest.

Many more to come soon! In late spring, we sometimes find one on the ground. Interesting to investigate.

Those large and tiny nests always amaze me – built so sturdy they don’t move and all these nests are exposed when the leaves are gone.

Linda, I had an epiphany!! Your comment made me realize that those nests are not new but have been there all alone. I should’ve known but had no idea either. It’s a paradigm shifter for me and for the kiddos! Those birds are amazing builders.

Oh yes, they will use them over and over, so they are sturdy. The female squirrels carry up leaves and twigs and make their nest (drey), just like the birds would do. I’ve seen bird’s nests, just the size of a teacup, in the same tree, year after year. 🙂
