Weekend Nature Walk Finds, including tadpoles!

Beginning our walk
Big loop walk around the lake
Coot swims by
Exploring
Not sure what these are called, but they provided a nice barrier between walkway and falling into the lake
So tempted to get closer and see what was in the water but had to keep an eye on the kids
New bird species: Red-winged blackbird
Raft of Coots swimming in formation
Best part of our walk: we found tadpoles by the thousands!!
Shallow part of the lake and tadpoles feeding on vegetation
Do you see those black clumps? That’s frogspawn, hundreds of tiny eggs.
Getting tired towards the end of the walk
Selfie with me and my bud

Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!
