My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Ellis is holding a 100 years old bucket. That thing is rock solid. Checking to see which lemons pull off easily. Don’t want to pull too hard, or else that’ll hurt the tree. Most of the lemons were still young and not easy to pick. Friend suggested we wait until they can be twisted off easily. First time for Elliot using the fruit picking tool… just for safety, I kept Ellis and my friend away in case he accidentally bonked them on their noggins. Our lemons to take home and wash. Thank you, Pamela Jade, for sharing your fruits with us and letting the kids do some authentic gardening in your yard! These are plums… they’ll be next for picking in the next few weeks. 😀A curious reptile friend doing push-ups by the 🍅 🪴 s.
I don’t bake so these lemons are mostly for their pretty sight, fragrant scent, and using them in the kitchen or cooking when necessary! I like to clean with them.
These lemons were massive, more so than the ones we get at the store. Maybe it’s because my friend just waits for them to fully ripen and get heavy before picking.
I wish you did have big lemons like these…the lemony scent is fresh.
Oh man, it’s be great if your lemon tree produced bigger lemons. I have no idea how to care for fruit trees, and whenever people say their fruit trees just grow, I wonder how they really do. Deep roots?
He was working his arm muscles and he didn’t run away when I got close to him with the camera!
These lemons are juicy. Since I can’t use most of them, I use it for cleaning.

Will you and the kids be making some lemony delights to eat?

Wah these lemons are of mango size
They are massive.
We don’t have such lemons here 😭

We have a lemon tree, but it doesn’t give such yield. Plus, it needs care. Lemons here are small.
and yes, people pick them fast .

Normal tree!!
Some fruit trees like Lemon, Amla, papaya started giving fruits even while they are small.
Different growing conditions determine the yield.
We have papaya, lemon, wood apple, sapodilla, guava trees.
They all give benefits in different condition.
How cool is that! Next the kids will be setting up a lemonade stand!
They were into the whole lemon picking process! Never made lemonade. Don’t know how that would go. Lol. But thx for the vote of confidence
Yes, they looked like they were enjoying themselves … Ellis with the vintage bucket and Elliot with the lemon grabber. 🙂
It was fun for them to try something new and we got to bring home the lemons they picked. But Ellis was pooped out afterwards.
That was a heavy bucket – no wonder she was pooped from carrying it plus the lemons inside. But it was a *good* tired for both kids (and mom). 🙂
When I took that picture, she was holding an empty bucket! It’s a bucket that could last another 100 years.
Wow – I didn’t realize it was empty as it looked heavy and sturdy. They made everything better in those days!
It’s a great quality bucket!
Those push up lizards are so cute.
Also, we love lemons 🍋
