My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Staring down a mountainous barrel of fluffy papers upon which I will drill through with my lightning speed! Assessing my challenge before I leap into this dark barrel. You can’t see me, but my face is full of grit and determination. No turning back. I may appear calm but I’m a bundle of nerves inside this gecko body. The course was dark, long, and narrow, but I traversed it well. I see the course is almost over and I hear faint cheers. I poke my head out to see what awaits me. A soft landing appears and I greet the curious human with a smile. Here’s a close up of my success grin. You may applaud now. I was so cool until this THUD! Not the graceful exit I expected but it shall do. I’m seriously silly.
Hahahaha, Jo, your comment made me laugh!! Yep, we do come up with some crazy antics and it’s so fun to share it on the blog. It’s mostly the kids although I’m the one who wants to dress it up. I’m waiting for the holidays; hope Dart will cooperate.
Dart is doing well and just shed again today. I had no idea geckos shed this often.
Maybe you are in England now for your son’s upcoming wedding? Hope everything is going well with you. 🙂 Safe travels.
He relaxes like 23 1/2 hours a day! But don’t worry we’re not forcing him to exercise. Sometimes we can’t even get him to move unless we coax him with live crickets or mealworms.
Not trickery but motivation! A big difference.
We’re taming him so that he can grow into a fire breathing Charizard and we won’t become coal. Wait, that’s what Charizard does, right? Breathes fire? Yep, answered my own question…kids said “yes” about the fire breathing thing. hahaha
I think he went in unknowing what it was and then was surprised at the end! Dart is good company for us and subject for science learning.
Kids cleaned out his tank today by themselves.

Oh, bless! Training for geckos. Looks like your latest family member has settled well, Esther.

This looks fun!!!
I guess he enjoyed 😊
I’m not sure Dart enjoyed, but he seemed surprised! We had fun orchestrating the obstacle course and seeing him complete it. lol
Why can’t poor being relax?
What if he doesn’t want to exercise and relax

That’s a trickery!!
Dude also need to chill for remaining 30 mins 😝
You will not be doing this once he evolves into Charizard.

Fire breathing and flying.
Then he will find his own food. 😝
Seeing Dart’s size, I’m not sure Charizard is in his future. Just my honest opinion.
Would you believe magikarp can evolve to gyarados?
I’m telling you, the more you’ll push him, the faster he’ll evolve.
Now that’s beyond my feeble knowledge of Pokemon characters.
You just need to check 🙂
It’s fun, trust me
Usually, meek looking beings turn out to be badass.
Fun!!!
Ha ha – he looked a little stunned in the last shot … “yay, I’m done, but maybe that’s it for the tunnel experience for a while!”

Yes, it is a good pet and good for science learning. Way to go kids – they’re enthusiastic about their pet … hope that continues once school starts.
Too cute! 😊
Thank you!
