sing like wildflowers

My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.

Hiking to the top!
For the first time this week, Dart climbed to the top of his rock cave. He somehow climbed up there but didn’t know how to get down. Since then, climbing up to the cave is a novel activity that he undertakes when he’s bored. He camouflages perfectly with the rock. The spot where he fell is his favorite spot in the tank where he can easily roam around the front and back of the cave and still have space to wander around the the side of the tank to look out the window.
Side of the tank…replaced the round rock with a live aloe for his viewing pleasure.

    The poor dear!
I like the photo of him stretching up to reach the rock. Such cute little toes.

Ha ha – well hope he landed comfortably. Kudos to Ellis for her video.

A little tumble but no injuries. Sometimes, we accidentally drop him when getting him out of the enclosure with all his wriggling, but he’s good.
I’ll tell Ellis! Thank you, Linda

Good that the little guy is resilient. 🙂 Yes, please do tell Ellis – thank you Esther!

We dropped him again yesterday!!! He’s okay though kids were worried that Dart’s spine was fractured. I told him that he wouldn’t be so mellow if that were the case.
If you can believe this, we gave Dart a warm bath so that would stimulate his bowels. yikes…we’re learning a lot and taking much pains to keep him well and healthy.

Oh my goodness – did the drop go to the floor or just a table where his tank sits on? Well, you are learning more about Dart’s wellness than you thought you would. When baby squirrels are found on the ground, out of the nest and Mama has perhaps died or couldn’t find them, rehabbers have to do something similar to stimulate their bowels and urine flow, which is something the Mama squirrel does for them when they are very young.

Uh, oh! Those short limbs just aren’t long enough to reach some places. 😉
