My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Hiding inside the hand cave. Dart must’ve felt cozy and safe, because he stayed in this position for a few minutes. (Although it may look like he’s squeezed, he is not. I’m cupping my hands and he had plenty of moving space in his torso area.)Sunbathing in his moist hide. This is the hide where we mist the paper towel so it can help Dart with the shedding process.
He’s comfortable around us and gives us lot of joy with his forever smile and antics! He has become part of the family now.

What a pretty & cute it. Nice you keep inside your hand. It’s very smooth & smart! How can help Dart with the shedding process.?
He is your family part.
Hello Dart! You have a wonderful steam sauna and sunbathing place to exfoliate! I envy you, Dart!!
I didn’t think that you were being squeezed by your loving humans. But I truly miss your beautiful coloring! You look ill in monochrome black and white my opinion, not so good on you Dart. Perhaps you might whisper that to your mama for next time.
I watch the older video of you shedding and it was very educational. I’m always learning from you my dear little darling Dart! 🦎
Auntie TD, I told my human mama that B&W photos are not for me and that my color is great right now after my latest shed. But she’s biased! She thinks I’m cute in all the pictures. My human brother and sister agree with you. But a few hours ago, I kind of gave my family a surprise on the carpet and there was a whole of lot of screaming and laughing. It was my first accident on the carpet! They thought I was sad because I was inactive but it was me just getting ready to poop. I don’t know…I’m a juvenile gecko…and I was outside of my tank’s corner where I usually do my business.
I’m so happy you like to learn about me and think I’m cute! Have a great Wednesday and chat again with you soon. 🙂

Darling Dart, I’m sure you were confused about where to go pootie! But you sure had me laughing!! When you have to go, you have to go, something’s are just out of our control.🦎
That makes me so happy to hear, Auntie TD! And thank you for your kind words about my poopy accident. I was out of my tank and confused!! My humans give me lots of cuteness treats, so when I have to go, it’s serious. hahaha
Thank you! Dart is a silly gecko and he’s gotten used to us playing with him (I hope to think he doesn’t mind us toting him around the house in our hands). He’s happy…most happy with his live bugs diet.
I know they do!! When I post those close-ups, I do worry that it’ll startle you. He’s not scary at all one you get familiar with him.
But thanks for checking it out!! Totally appreciate you stopping by.
Hello, auntie Linda! I’m still a juvenile and growing. Humans can’t tell if I’m a male or female until I’m over 6 months old. I don’t think I’m that old yet.
But I did a doodie on the carpet tonight! It wasn’t my fault. I usually do my business in a corner of the tank but they took me out to feed me. Everyone screamed! Lots of laughs too but mama wasn’t too happy with the extra cleaning. I’m back in my tank now and will take a nap soon.
I see – I wonder how old you were when you came to live with the Suhs? Well, that’s too bad that happened Dart – poor Mama had an extra chore. Naps are nice in the sanctuary of your tank.
I wish I knew how old I am but the kids say I’m still a baby! After the poopy incident, they call me “yoga master” because I can masterfully raise my back legs to do my business. Auntie Linda, I’m full of surprises!

He’s really become part of the family now, hasn’t he? He seems quite at home with you.

Peekaboo … how much bigger will Dart get Esther or is he full-sized now?
