My mom just got discharged from the hospital yesterday, which was her third admission since June. She has masses in her bladder that needs removing and now the doctors just found out that the left and right arteries needed stents. So last Monday she went in for an emergency cath and got a stent placed in her right side, but its calcification took the cardiologist longer than usual. And the ultrasound showed that she had a kidney stone that needs removing.
Right now, it’s all a timing scenario. She will have another operation to work on her left artery and be on blood thinners for a month before she can undergo the operation for the bladder mass removal. The kidney stone hasn’t been brought up yet. It’s been an onslaught of phone calls for me to translate at any time of day. I’m trying to stay positive and seeing this as a challenge to test my patience! And my mom is so impatient with wanting the bladder surgery soon, because she has to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes or less and thst disrupts her sleeping and quality of life.
This waiting is a safety protocol so that she can take her blood thinners for a month before any operations.
Thankfully, Ellis is well and no emergencies on this home front. Writing this as kids are at their swimming lessons. Hope everyone is staying well and enjoying this summer!!

So sorry, Esther. Praying for your mom’s health issues and also for you.
Thank you! It’s been an ongoing issue. The clogged arteries were completely new and that put a wrench in the bladder operation plans.
Esther – I continue to keep your entire family in my prayers … thankfully Ellis is doing well because you don’t need one more worry right now. I never learned how to swim – good for you getting the kids swimming lessons.
Thank you, Linda! I can’t believe she’s going through another major health issue. It’s been ongoing and so many emergency visits, admissions, and surgeries. She has 3 surgeries going forward. Whew…and I haven’t even asked another my dad’s glaucoma.
Our homeschooling teacher has been on me to take the kids for swimming lessons. Thankfully, one of our 4-H friends recommended a friendly teacher and kids were ready to take the lessons.
Your poor mom and it’s good that you are available to be the conduit between your mom and her medical providers and translate. But I know it is rough on you as well. Learning to swim at an early age is good and that’s good that kids were ready and didn’t feel pressured to learn how to swim.
Yes, I feel blessed to help her. Since I’m getting more information about her medical history, it’s getting easier to navigate. Waiting for insurance approval to move forward with her angiogram.
It’s too bad you’re not living nearby – you are indeed a blessing to your mom, both your parents at this time as you help them navigate their medical conditions.
Thank you, Linda! This summer has been quite a medical journey for my parents. My mom just had her heart cath today and got a balloon in one of her arteries. My dad had his other eye glaucoma surgery last Tuesday.
Well thank goodness Ellis has stayed healthy because you sure didn’t/don’t need a trifecta of family members down. I hope your mom and dad are recovering from their procedures with no issues.
Thank you, Linda! I couldn’t handle another stressor on top of everything.
Praying for your mother’s good health.
Thank you so much!!
I wish to your mom a good health! 🙏
Thank you! We need it. It’s been quite a month. Since March, it’s been ongoing.
Sending prayers for your family, your mom’s medical team, and her upcoming procedures. 🙏🩷
Thank you! Prayers are appreciated. Thankfully at this hospital admission she met a Korean American cardiologist who can explain to her what’s happening. And he’s been helping with coordinating when to schedule the bladder surgery. Last week’s admission was a miracle, because her heart was in terrible shape.
I’m so sorry to hear about your mother’s need for surgery! Sending healing thoughts.
Thank you, Liz! We’re waiting for insurance approval to schedule her next angiogram.
You’re welcome, Esther. 🥰
That swimming pool water looks so refreshing! … Sending good thoughts for your Mom <3
