My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
No worries…I’ve been the same comment to my kids and to other kids too. It really blows my mind how quickly kids grow while we gracefully mature in our wisdom and insightfulness. 😉
Thank you! I remember taking a photo of them in that same spot and had to recreate it to see the contrast. We used to go to the aquarium every year on homeschooling days. Did you go to any of them?
Thank you, Linda! It’s fun to see how much they’ve grown over the years! Ellis was a tiny little kid, and I’d carry her everywhere with me. I miss being able to easily pick her up and sit her on my lap…so much snuggling with that little one.
She looked very tiny in the picture, but hey, I was 4 pounds, 11 ounces when I was born and grew up to be 5′ 9″ tall (my parents were 5’2 and 5’3″ tall respectively).

My, how they’ve grown since then! (Sorry about the old person comment. 😉 )

When I was a kid, I hated it when a grown-up would say that to me.
Love the recreated photo op! So cute 🥰

We never went on a homeschool day, but we have been there several times. We are hoping to visit Monterey in August! I love that place!
Look how young they were – Ellis is so petite! Elliot is so cute! I like the before and after contrast!
