I like to think of such sights as accidental gardens.
Brilliantly said: “accidental gardens.” I’ll keep an eye out for more of them in our future walks. Spring is the time to discover more of these.

BTW, I got the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull you recommended and I left it on top of our homeschool book stacks, and now it’s gone missing. The story of our book stacks that keep growing and moving and getting misplaced.

Yep, I hope it finds its way back to us soon. Sometimes we realize that what we’re looking for was right under our noses and didn’t realize it until we’re looking for something else.

Well at least they are pretty – mine are plain green and hard to pull out!
We have a lot of plain green ones too, but these yellow mini flowers were saying “hello” with their cute faces.
They reminded me a little of buttercups, only shorter.
I googled them years ago, and I think they are called wood sorrels. I’m taking a big guess here with that…my memory could be totally off on this.
Your memory is good Esther – I just Googled wood sorrels and they are dainty yellow flowers like yours.
Was it?? I remember when I was looking through a photo and saw that I had added a text label to the picture. But then I stopped. I should keep going with it though…helps to remember!
I like Google Image to find what something is – that is kind of lazy on my part since I bought a book about Michigan birds and another book about Michigan wildflowers.
