My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Thank you, Jo! They were happy in the end but ambivalent when I first told them where we were going. It turned out to be more interesting than they expected. This only reinforces my drive to continue taking them to places they may complain about…it’s got educational value! lol
They are hard to pass up – look at the teddy bear collection I amassed and it spilled over into my mom’s bedroom and the TV room, until I told my mom maybe it was time to stop … she said something to the effect that I should have stopped a long time before this! But she admitted, she was the one who bought the first one!
I get you! There are too many cute selections out there. I commiserate with you and your plush collection.
Our collection is busting at the seams and yet we still find more to bring home. It’s a condition. lol
Yep, we share the same obsession. It’s never ending and why so many cute selections. We went to UCSF hospital gift shop and fell in love with many stuffies. Ellis and I were determined to not buy anything since we just got Captain Paws at Queen Mary and a poseable Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland. But guess what? I took pictures of the brands so we could further investigate new stuffies. Madness!
Well, who can resist their cute faces? It’s probably a good thing they stopped making the Boyds Bears … at least they were small and didn’t take up as much space.
Oh – I just took a quick peek. Fell in love with them all over again and yes they do all have a vintage vibe to them. I see it says “Bailey and Friends” … I do have something with Bailey in it – a resin piece that was a pin and it was for Valentine’s Day … she has blue ribbons in her fur and holding a box of chocolates. They were all adorable. I didn’t realize you could still buy them – this company must have bought all the stock when they closed down. Thank you for the link Esther – it brought back some nice memories as my mom bought me most of them, which we would see when we went to the Hallmark store to buy cards and our Hallmark store sent out a catalog at Christmas, so Mom would pick out a bear, call the store and have them save it, then give me the money to go get it (as she didn’t drive). Nice memories. Gonna tuck this link away.

I remember similar occasions when James was small. He didn’t always appreciate his good luck!
Love the teddy bear!
Thank you! He’s fitting in well with all the other stuffies.
You’re welcome!
Super cute stuffie! That Captain outfit is irresistible!!
We felt the same way about his captain outfit!!
What a nice memory from the tour of the Queen Mary and your trip!
We had to get the plush and we gravitate towards it right away! Lol. Drag us away from those cute stuffed animals.

It is an obsession indeed! I have to send the picture on another comment – WP said “you already said that!” when I tried to send it. Really?

What is this Boyd’s Bears? I must look it up.
Did you find them – probably a good thing they don’t make them anymore as I guarantee you would be getting some!
There’s a Boyd’s Bear’s website! https://theboydsbearsstore.com/collections/bailey-and-friends The shop is located in NC.
They are cute and have a vintage vibe to them.

Danger alert! lol
Did you order any?
They just don’t have bears – there are a few hares in the mix. Went back and looked again and saw one. Danger alert indeed!
