Diamond finally made her way to the living room and hung out with us for a bit. Hanging out meant trying out some ornaments from our tree, her just hopping around on the mat, and booping us from time to time. We couldn’t help ourselves! I thought she would squirm away from us fussing around with her, but she was truly a mellow and cooperative rabbit.
Getting her downstairs again was a struggle. I held a cardboard box to block her from running back into the living room, but she wasn’t having it. I thought maybe I could put her in a box and walk down with it, but her scrambling in there could hurt both of us. So we had to rally up the trio to get her safely down: Elliot held her body to the direction that she needed to go while she walked or ran or whatever frantic moves her thumpers made, Ellis blocked the way back to the living room with a flattened box, and I supervised this madness. All in all, everyone, including the rabbit, was well and happy afterwards!

She was determined to stay put, but without bunny- proofing the space, it was tricky to have her romp about. It was even more fun knowing that Chris said we couldn’t have her upstairs, but we completely ignored his wishes. We can be so cheeky!

Diamond is a cheeky rabbit! 😜 but she is weak to petting and still immediately settle into relaxation mode when being petted.
She enjoys being the center of attention and is enjoying all the extra pets and scratches and loving by all of you.

She was a good sport and exceeded our expectation of how she’d respond. I now wonder how she’d look in a sweater!

Hahah, Jo, we had such a good laugh over your comment, and we wholeheartedly agree! They probably just want to be left alone.
When kids were 3 and 5, we raised African dwarf frogs and they wanted to pet them so badly. They gave the frogs a massage and we believed that it was fine. Nope, rude awakening. Contact with human skin made them sick and unfortunately died.we held a small funeral for the 2 frogs outside the garage where they were buried.
Oh, tragic! You have way more tolerance than I do. My limit was a goldfish.
Diamond is a natural model and seems in bliss with all the attention! 😀 Glad you all had a great time with her upstairs. I used to take my guinea pig indoors during winter and it’s favourite trick was bounding up the stairs. Wisely it never tried to go down them, so I would carry it down and start all over again! 😀
That sounds like a lot of fun with the guinea pig! It was wise not to go down the stairs… lots of tumbles. Animals are much smarter than we give them credit for.
I’ll let Diamond know that she may have a successful career in modeling the next time she comes to visit!
