We finally tried using this duck as the warmer duck it was meant to be. Elliot had a stomach ache last night, and Ellis reminded me that we could warm up this duck as a heating pad. I searched the duck for a velcro opening where a separate bean pouch could be warmed up in the microwave, but this one could be put whole into the microwave. It felt wrong to do! We all had a good laugh seeing the duck turn on the turntable. It has a pleasant lavender scent to it. Elliot used it last night and thought it did a great job of retaining heat and as a relaxation tool.
I try to do something special for him when he comes to visit each night so he doesn’t feel left out and he remembers that we miss him too.

I think that’s such a lovely thing to do for him! We had a very stressful weekend dealing with a death in the family and a subsequent financial crisis. We drug the kiddos along with us and they were so well-behaved. We bought them a Switch 2! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I’m so sorry to hear about your family loss. It’s never easy and our emotions go through a loop. On top of the loss, dealing with a financial crisis is stressful!! I’m so sorry that you went through so much. Praying that you will have peace!!

I told my kids and they are telling me all the stuff they could play together. Pokemon Scarlet and Smash Ultimate.
it did look funny to se it in the micro – and how nice that you remember Elliot has needs too and how the other child sometimes gets lost if another is being treated – wow – and I could see his surprise with the duck and these “warmies” are a good idea.
What a good idea – I remember a girl at work had a rice bag and she filled it up and put it on her legs … would I be catty if I said she wore mini-skirts, though they were not really in style anymore, so felt the need to warm her legs.
We got animal heat packs by Warmies too. Several years ago, we bought the llama ones (my sisters and I kept thinking it was so funny and weird to see the llama as it turned round and round in the microwave 🤣) But they were super warm and comfortable, especially when it was cold.
What a wonderful idea to have a little soft animal to warm up. Now I want one too! 🙂
