My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
The pretty yellow flowers are some species of Oxalis. A friend who lives in your part of California was mentioning them the other day, saying that they were putting on quite a show!
Yes, these yellow flowers are popping up everywhere! Their seeds must carry far and wide. They are so pretty to look at with the sun shining on them. Very cheerful.
Can yiu believe I got a close up shot of it in the wild? Usually, butterflies are hard to capture on camera for me. And this one wasnt blurry.
It was a nice walk in the park while elliot was doing Pokémon Go. It was a big event for a special Pokémon. Over 300 people showed up.
You were lucky to get this pretty butterfly Esther. I think there was an anniversary related to Pokémon. I heard it on the news last week. That must have been why everyone including Elliot was there?
Maybe that’s what it was! I heard that there was a aprk that got 600 Pokemon Go players. There are communities you join and then you join their gyms. I just take the kids and am their guard. Ellis gets nauseated from constantly looking at the screen and looking up, so Elliot plays for both of them. She got a special shiny character that spawns like 1 time every 4500 times or something like that. It’s all a new to me.
I can remember being at Council Point Park once and all these kids were walking around looking down at their phones and someone said something was going on with Pokemon. These were all teenagers, a lot of them, unusual to see there.
I’m surprised you didn’t see a wider age range. We see a lot of different ages in California; parents with strollers, teenagers and middle age folks. I just go for the fresh air and to chaperone.
Interesting – well you have milder weather so a family stroll is more likely on a regular basis than here. I used to walk as much as I could in Winter, but now … it sure is not the same as it was even just a few years ago.

It was a cold winter and to be out on a pleasant day felt glorious! Thank you.
You’re welcome. We had a warmer day here, in the 40s.
Nice! It will be warming up soon and flowers blooming. I hope your spring is wonderful and happy.
Thanks! I hope your spring is wonderful and happy as well.
Thank you! I think California skipped spring and we’ve gone straight into summer. We had some 80 degree weather. ack!
Pretty and Spring-y and I love the Red Admiral Butterfly too!

Looks like spring! 🌼
I need to leave Canada. We are buried in snow and ice!! 🩵🤍😉❄️🥶
Oh boy! Please stay well. Spring is around the corner. Hang in there.
Sunshine, bright wildflowers, and a butterfly. It is looking like spring. Happiness!
Thank you! The weather is warming up and more people are out and about with the nicer weather.
