My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
This is a new project for us. We were solely focused on rabbits but we just signed up for it. Elliot did rifles on a 4-H summer camp 2 years ago and enjoyed it. Elliot is wearing safety goggles. We were out at the ranch for 3 hours and when we got home, we were pooped. So tired from being out in the sun.
That’s interesting. That never dawned on me that they were safety goggles. I know the sun wears you out, especially when combined with humidity. That is why I went out so few times last Summer. I say I have to do better, but then it is stinking hot and humid or a storm threatens or air quality alerts. After this Winter which was the worst Winter since 2014-2015, I said I will go out every day (don’t hold me to it though).
Oh my! You had a rough winter…that’s crazy that this winter was the worst in over ten years. Man, you go through a lot with the weather scares. You go out when you feel like it…I know you’ll have lots of outings and pictures taken on your jaunts.
Yes, they wear safety goggles while they shoot the bb guns. They put in lead for for the shots. it was out first time so we were just getting used to the safety protocols. Next month should be better.
That tornado in West Michigan yesterday was scary – the pictures of total devastation, about 150 miles from me. There are still five people missing. We had that bad storm last night and another one this morning – wind, thunder and torrential rain. We were supposed to have round #2 this evening, but it hasn’t happened yet – I hope it has fizzled out.
That’s good they wear safety goggles – better to be save than sorry.
Yes, this weather has reached scary levels Esther – something new every day and not only staying up until the middle of the night to feel safe to go to bed in case of a fallen tree crashing on the house or severe weather, but I think the anticipation building up of what will happen is just as bad, especially if you’re watching videos like last week – Indiana and Illinois and eight-inch hail and thinking “this is what’s headed our way?!” Yikes!

Such a beautiful day! Green grass & blue sky!
You do learn a variety of things with your 4-H club, don’t you. Is Elliot wearing glasses to ensure he hits the right target for target practice?
