It’s one of my favorite places too! We went to Sea World this time, and it was great to see the dolphin and orca shows. It’s been a long time since we’ve been back and it was nice that the kids would remember it now. We love the zoo too, but we didn’t have enough time to do that. What’s your favorite sightseeing thing to do in San Diego?

Thank you, Leanne! It was a great trip albeit very hectic with activities. We somehow managed physically to walk miles everyday and Ellis didn’t get sick once.

Thank you! Our family really enjoys San Diego and we have some favorite things to do when we’re there. The picture is from Birch Aquarium…it’s small but full of interesting sea creatures. Once of their highlights is blue penguins from Australia. They are the smallest penguin breeds.

Esther – I thought I’d check back and see if you were allowing comments and you are and guess what – you don’t have to go to your actual site to post the comments anymore. I like the pictures – everyone looks so happy and carefree. Hopefully school is done for the Summer to a little getaway to celebrate?

We were gone for 10 days to see family on both sides and to San Diego. We tagged along with Chris for his science convention in SD and while he worked during the day, we were out sightseeing. It was pretty hectic with the loaded schedule and everyone being so tired. Although we are on summer break, Elliot’s summer school started for World History. I’m teaching it with a curriculum and it’s intense. It’s one year’s worth of work squeezed into 6 weeks. Thankfully, we have a summer school teacher who meets with us once a week for updates, but it’s been lots of work. It’s over on July 16th! We just finished with Greek philosophy and architecture. Next up is Roman culture and society. Ack!
Hi Esther – (sorry for the late response … we have had a bad weather day, a sudden tornado warning, then calm, then rumbling most of tonight – sigh). Initially, your post had no place to comment, so I thought you were doing that on purpose, but I wanted to check anyway. I wonder why it corrected itself and we don’t go to your site now? It’s good anyway.
I think I remember Chris had a science conference last year when you went along and went to Carmel or Sausalito? That’s great you got to see both families.
I do remember now you said Elliot had a rigorous schedule for learning this Summer. I’m not a history buff at all and I’d be pulling my hair out for sure. The other subjects sound difficult as well. I remember taking a philosophy class in college and we had a very difficult teacher … he wanted us to read, memorize stuff and he’d point at us in class and on the spot you’d have to analyze stuff. The class was mandatory, he was the only one teaching philosophy and I could hardly wait to finish it. I think it was two semesters on top of it. Architecture … I hope Elliot does well. At least it’s over by July 16th … you will need another vacation by then!
