I remember the computer, same as the ones we used at school in my teaching days. The telephone!! Do you have it, Esther?
That computer brought back junior high memories; learning word processing and making images with commands. We shared a computer with a buddy and had to use a sign up sheet. Technology has come a long way over the years!!!
I don’t have that telephone but I remember using them. Get one number wrong and you have to start all over. Time consuming process. That telephone was also at the antique shot. I’m sure it’s still in working condition and would make a home decor statement. Do you have one?
I don’t have that telephone, Esther, but my parents had a black one and I remember using it. We used Apple computers and then Apple E2. Yes, we’ve come a long way.
Agree! I’ve seen tan color ones mostly but not a black one. I don’t know if you remember but I had a post about a red touch tone phone with leather on the receiver. lol
No, I don’t remember. But I have one of the early cellphones bigger than a walky talky with antenna and huge battery.
oh wow these are fun finds!!
They were! The vintage computer was pricey and it still works. The owner took great care of it. The phone would make a great conversation piece and learning tool for kids.
They would make great learning tools eh?
And hope you are having a nice start to august – the summer is going so fast
That’ll take you back. When we got into the word processing era at the law firm, it was two machines and they cranked out documents that were forms with variables … that’s all they did. When the Firm sprang for computers, not everyone got one … one at each side of the office and we had to take turns using it. Silly way of doing things. The good old days (and you’re younger than me.
And we had a rotary dial wall phone until about 15 years ago when my mom wanted to get a phone for the kitchen table as it was difficult for her to get up and down off the chair in a hurry, so the phone guy came in and put in a touch tone phone instead.
Touch phone is much more convenient than rotary phone. Glad your mom was able to get an easier way to access the phone.
Yes, after all those years, it was really different.
