My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
Happy to see these door after a frenzied evening of sickness at home. 10 p.m.My tall water bottle filled with iced coffee. Chugging it at 11 p.m. no wonder I’m still up.Exhausted and fell asleep after medication. Staying the night. It’s early morning and that coffee is still keeping me up. Praying this will be a short stay.
Thanks Suah! I don’t feel brave but when I’m in the midst of it, the protective side of me takes over.
I miss you too, so does our ladies’ group!! Stay well and hope you are healthy. 🙂
Thanks Erin! Appreciate knowing that you guys are right there if we need help. It’s reassuring! Love you guys…you’ve seen us go through all of this through the years.
Well you do deserve something like chocolate to reward yourself a little for enduring this marathon session at the hospital, not to mention all the worries.
We came home Friday afternoon. This stay was longer than expected but instead of getting worked up about it, I decided to just let it go and let God. Maybe God had a reason for the longer stay…hospital is not for the hurting body but also a forced time of thinking about life, faith, family, and priorities for caretakers. In that environment, you can’t help but think about those things.
It’s so great that you stopped by. I appreciate your comment and your prayers! Stay well and healthy.

Thank you Andy for your thoughts and well wishes! Appreciate your comment.
I’m behind here again so I hope in my absence Ellis has been cleared to return home and that made your heart soar as well.
Aww friend 🖤🖤🖤🖤 hope you’re back home already and if not tonight, then soon. Let us know how we can help Chris and Elliot while you’re away.

Are you and Ellis home now Esther?
Hi Linda, we’re still at the hospital. Initially thought Thursday was discharge but it’s tentatively Friday discharge. Trudging along…eeek
I’m sorry to hear that Esther – sending hugs your way. I know this is a trying time for you.
Been home since Friday and have had a sweeth tooth all weekend! Gotta stop the snacking soon.

Praying Ellis is home and better now, Esther.
Thanks Miriam! We got home last Friday and she’s back to her regular happy self. It’s like night and day.
Good to hear that, Esther. It’s so hard to see our kids got sick!
