Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I'm so happy you are here. I'm an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature's beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child's heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you'll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you'll find some interesting posts to read!
I certainly smiled at these photos!

Thank you Linda! It’s a good thing my kids don’t complain I like to take too many pics of them.

So cute and so young (not that Ellis is old), but the first picture I thought she was saying “oops – I could have had a V-8!”

I haven’t seen a V-8 in years and I’ve never tried one. I’m sure they’re good for you and much better than other sugary drinks.
The first picture could’ve been her saying, “oh no, you can stop with the bad jokes now.”

They must have discontinued the adds where you smack your forehead “wow – I could have had a V-8!” Very cute picture and Ellis looks so young.

I remember that ad too, but I think they don’t they run that ad anymore.
Elis was young in that picture and we had outdoor dining for lunch that day. It got pretty bad as the lunch progressed as the sun was beating down on my head and my MIL’s. It was brutal but the kids enjoyed the outing. lol

I don’t have TV, so I have to get newscasts on the radio or I watch the TV news online. I heard it was horribly hot for the Super Bowl yesterday, so likely you are dealing with it as well. Outdoor dining is nice, but can get too hot sometimes.

Linda, the weather is too volatile. We had hot weather over the weekend and then it’s been chilly since yesterday. Rain would be a welcome change for us. I hope people stay well and don’t catch colds or the other scary VIRUS.

We kept hearing about your 90-degree weather on Super Bowl Sunday and we had the snow. I’m no fan of Winter and less so with the ice mixed in. They lifted the indoor mask mandate for schools and any other buildings (except hospital settings). Not happy to hear it but they said our stats went down. I’m staying masked up though.

Stay masked up…you never know. San Jose is ending indoor masking policy, but it’s hard to tell how bad Omicron is here. It’s back and forth yet it seems hospitals are overwhelmed with patients. Best to stay safe.
Super Bowl weekend was bizarrely warm for February. This week we’re having lower temps and hopefully some rain. What a difference we have in our states!!

I’ll stay masked up til it’s over I think – I even wear a mask to the Park, though I’ve had to drop it in the Winter as the anti-fogging spray has not been working. They said not as many flu cases as pre-pandemic, but more than last year. We had weather today that was 35 or 40 degrees warmer than yesterday, but tons of ice and 35 mph winds, so I didn’t go out. The weather is crazy!

Wise to mask up and stay in. Seriously what’s with the weather?!
It sounds like the numbers are coming down in CA; that info changes almost on a daily basis.

Today on the news, they had a local infectious disease specialist on for an interview. He has been on often COVID, more often as to surges. So, he said “no one feel this is over – it is not over and please stay vigilant – we’re not yet and I’ve seen it happen other times when surges end and we stabilize.” I take his advice to heart.
I’ve not been to a store to go grocery shopping since early November – I bought a lot of shelf stable items as I always do every Winter. I went and filled up gas for the car on January 22nd – haven’t driven since due to the weather.
Weather is crazy here (and lots of other places to be honest). I thought I’d try a walk this morning – just too icy on the sidewalks. I walk on the streets and it might have been salted and okay to do that after our brief thaw yesterday, but no telling what the Park or Park parking lot looked like, so I didn’t go. We are getting more snow this Thursday into Friday – one station says 3-6 inches. Hope they are wrong.
