I have to ask (sorry, I know it is Wordless Wed) – this is not an otter enclosure, right?
I’m glad you asked Ju-Lyn! It is an otter enclosure for rehabilitating otters at the aquarium. After they receive care, I think that’s where they rest, so they get strong enough for the wild. There was no information about it. This was on the top floor of the aquarium where they do research and sprinkle kelp with seawater and degasses the water that flows into the exhibits.
They seriously know what they’re doing!

How fascinating! I am always glad to hear about how wildlife receives help to stay safely in the wild.
It’s amazing to hear how much care and effort goes into rehabilitation; I didn’t realize how many get injured and orphaned in the wild.
