My full and kooky life as a homeschooling mommy to 2 great kids, raising a child with HLHS (Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome), coping with depression, following Jesus, and being much too camera happy.
Welcome to my blog! My name is Esther and I’m so happy you are here. I’m an avid nature photographer and a daydreaming thinker. My posts revolve around photos of nature’s beauty, homeschooling adventures with my 2 kids, sporadic reflections on my child’s heart condition, Bible reading reflections, gardening feats, and other mish mash things. Hopefully you’ll leave encouraged, pensive, or smiling at the simple things of life. Thank you for stopping by and hope you’ll find some interesting posts to read!
I’ll just stop right here for a break from my walk.Hmmm? Oh, why have these funny looking things stopped moving? Hmm… *realization hits* Uh oh, RUN!!AAAAAAHHHH, RUNNNNNN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!!!!!!!
Now Ellis is adding writing as well as artwork to her list of attributes. That is a funny post … poor thing wandering into the street like that. It’s unusual to see a heron “out of its element” and how lucky you were there to see it and capture photos.
Thanks Linda! I was writing the captions but got stuck. So I asked to Ellis to try it and she wrote them out. She was really proud of it and told me to post it right away. lol
We felt lucky to see a heron right there in front of us. It made our outing that much more special and memorable. Thanks heron!

A great moment captured!
Yesterday we were leaving the museum when this Blue Heron walked into the street! It’s rare to get a sighting like this so we were overjoyed.
It’s very special.
Perfection!
You can imagine our surprise to see this! Ellis wrote out the captions for this post. lol.
Super cute and I love the captions they made me giggle so much. Happy Sunday! 🙂
Thank you Jay-lyn! I’m so happy to hear it made you giggle. That’s what makes blogging rewarding. Hope you have a great Tuesday!
Who says birds don’t adapt to our human environments? You mentioned a museum — might it have a pond that attracted the bird?
I’ve never seen a heron in the middle of the road before!
Wow! What a sight to see! Glad you got a photo, and the heron safely got across the road.
Cute captions, Ellis! 🙂

I’m glad it was safe and I am sure it was terrified after wandering into traffic. Wrong place AND wrong time!
A pedestrian helped the bird to get back into the wooded area…I’m sure it was wondering what all the sound and sights were.
Oh that’s good – I wonder why it strayed there. Poor thing was likely terrified.
I think so! Somehow it wandered into the street.
Lucky it had a guardian angel!
