I’m new to this 20-gallon tank. It’s plush and comfortable. I have 3 hides, a heating mat, UVB lamp, water, and food.
I was fed live crickets upon arrival. My new friends are making a big deal trying to accommodate my needs, so here I am smiling for the camera.

What a fun post. He really is cute. I’ll be anxious to learn his new name!
Thank you, Linda!! So excited about this. I made a new post about help deciding his name. Please add your vote!
Cute!
Thanks!! He’s real fun and is a great cricket hunter. Maybe he’ll need handfeeding next time…that’s how they get used to the humans. Ack! We’ll see.
Oh my – what a cute little critter! He looks so happy checking out his new home, and that smile! 🙂
It’s got a great smile! It surprises us too. Since everything is new to it at its new home, not much going on except for eating and lounging in one of the hides. It’s a great hunter though when he pounces on the crickets.
Thank you for your vote and comment!!
Ha ha – very clever how you did this post Esther. You said in an earlier post last week that Chris wasn’t enthused about getting a gecko – is he feeling more warm and fuzzy toward it now?
Thank you, Linda! I wanted to use the pictures and it seemed like a fun post to do. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Makes me happy!!
Chris consented but not with glee and total excitement. However, if he really didn’t want it, we probably wouldn’t have gotten it. He’s happy the kids are happy and excited about their new pet. I don’t think he’ll join us in feeding it live crickets though. lol
Chris probably made a concession also knowing the kids wanted a dog and that was a no-go, so this pet won’t shed … just don’t lose him in the house. 🙂 My neighbor Marge bought a hamster and put it in the cage and her granddaughter came over and wanted to play with it and it ran away and they never found it. (Hmm.) I don’t blame Chris. I thought it was very clever. You had very fun pictures to match with captions. I like doing that, especially for Wordless Wednesday.
Oh my, so it’s true that you can lose a small pet at home. Chris warned us not to let the gecko loose or else we’ll never find it. Now that you mention Marge, ok, I’ll take that to heart.
Thank you, Linda! I’m so glad you liked that post.
You might have to get a leash for him/her. 🙂 Marge was beside herself losing the hamster in the house.
I told the family about Marge and the lost hamster, and everyone was intrigued. Our gecko is too small for a leash and it’s too scared to dart away. It just sits and runs up and down the arm.
OK, I kind of thought a lease may not work … I didn’t know if it would “make a run for it” under a couch, a bed, behind the stove or fridge. 🙂
What fun! 🦎💚
Lots of fun but hard work. Feeding it live crickets covered in calcium is tedious; I was literally sweating today from that task We all three had a job to do while feeding, so the crickets dont’ jump out of the tank.
Good to know! We are not going to get one! Good luck, girl!
I need it!! The gecko seems stressed and not much activity, so we’re researching what to do. Ayaaaaa!! Thank you for the other 2 votes.
Btw, just sent you an email.
Ohhh
This gave me goosebumps for a reason.
What a interesting new friend.
Does he/she eats anything else? I wonder how getting crickets will be possible all the time.
How huge do they grow? Would be scary if they suddenly grow to the size of komoda dragon 😛
Dart forward hmmmm 🤭
